Anyone who wants a new GM is living in a dream world. What is a new GM going to do really? Are they just going to let the whole thing cave and rebuild from the ground up five years from now?

IT has talent on this team. Some vetrans are having promblems, Larry is having problems too. We either keep dealing and try to get the right combination or just let this group work it out. Either way, there is no reason to move Thomas.

We need a pure speed point guard and we need Q to either start hitting threes or be traded for someone who can. The ball goes in to the post and doesn't come back out, not because we're not moving the ball but because there's not point in passing to Q or Marbs so they can brick a 3.

Draft: Mustafa Shakur
Moves: Let Penny, AD expire
Trades: Try to move Rose or Mo with Lee or Ariza for a legit 3 like Lewis. Why keep two projects at the same position when we are giving Woods time there too?

Dream '06 rotation ("moving on" rotation, not contending rotation)
C: Curry, Butler, Frye
F: Frye, Lewis
SF: Lewis, Ariza
SG: Crawford, Nate
PG: Shakur, Nate
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

hes not even nba material

depending on where we pick or if we get additioanl picks the guys id be looking at are jordan farmar and marcus williams,we have no shot at rondo who would be my number 1 choice for a pG

id love to walk out of the draft with either of these PGs and Taj Gray but its a pipe dream.

Agreed. We need to give Isiah time. We can't just keep shuffling in new GMs and coaches.

Marcus Williams will be long gone. Hopefully we can get Toronto's pick (which they got from Denver). That will land somewhere in the late teens probably.

We need a SF or SG first. Theres an outside shot knicks can Sign Speedy (FA in the summer) or Brevin. Charlotte will move him soon and turn over the keys Felton, I'm sure.

yeah, the Mustafa pick is assuming that we are using the San Antonio pick. All the others will be gone. He has decent size and plays the position well.

I'm a big SU fan and if Jason Heart can start in the pros, Shakur is just fine for the Knicks as a place holder.

Youre saying you want a place holder? Unless Lewis is comming here and we get an elite 2G, we need way more than just a place holder.

You preferred Layden's team? Being led at PG by Eisely and our future resting on McDyess and Sweetney?

both.

stop comparing the this team to Layden's. Compare how those team fared against the rest of the NBA versus how Isiah's teams are. And please save the young crap. NY's average age is that of the ENTIRE league. If anything Layden's last 2 teams were at more of a disadvantage since they were unathletic and 4 years older than the league average.

they both have been bad.
I would prefer NOT to have curry right now and do ANYTHINg I could to get another high pick and hoped I walked out of the draft with
Rudy Gay
Tay Gray
moved Frye back to C and my frontline for the next ten years is set--same type of athletes long athletci with speed and skills Im sour on eddie curry, i dont like his intelligence level or his work ethich. this would give me a style of play with fat eddy, he has trouble getting up and down. id rather get the team to move faster, kind of copy what the suns are doing with defensive modifications. More passing, more running, more 3s, but in balance with post play.
if i owne a team that wa worth 600mm i might just take steps to buyout larry brown if i was in charge, pay him a year and half salary and bring in guys who like up temp basketball with a flair of european and a dash of da bulls.

i watch uconn and i love how they play mean defense--in the style of the bulls long athletic players who press and trap and then are tough to handle in the halfcourt, but they also try to play at warp speed moving end to end going inside and out with ball movement.

thats the whole thing we dont have identity or a style of play. if anyone rrcalls i probably brought this up 3 years ago STYLE of pLAY and how important it is to define one. players jumbnled together isnt going to get it done.

I think we really do need a guy with a vision instead of a combination of starphuckin and flash with no splash.

I would go all out trying to hire the guys from the suns bryan colangelo, steve kerr and their lead coaching assistant to rehaul this disaster.

If you owned shares of a company whose CEO runs the business like Isiah does, you'd be screaming for his head at the shareholders meeting.

Isiah's resume as a manager is not good. He should not be in a position of handling hundreds of millions of $$$ of this Knick franchise. Look at what he's acommplished so far. Or, like Larry, is he breaking down the team first in order to rebuild it? LOL.

Yes, BRIGGS. The GM needs to have a clear vision. He needs to share that with the fans. He needs to create a sound strategy that is consistent with the vision and stick to it. All the moves he makes needs to be justifyble and based on the vision. It's ok to modify the strategy in action, but he cannot lose the big picture of where the team is headed to.

A clear vision = well defined style of play = acquisition of players that fits the style of play

Isiah's grade so far = F

I do now i was a FAN and very hopeful when we got curry, but knick fans have been holding on to strings for 5 years running. Its not really about curry, its about what I have realized what is wrong here--we need an idnetity, a style of play, a coach who will implement that style and the best players we can get to fit that mold.

NOTHING is on the same page, the ocach the gm the players its a mess that wont go away--we need someone in dolans ear besides steve mills. we need him to see the light of where basketball is headed or atleast for someone to tell him where it is going, and we arent getting there with larry brown OR isiah.

Let's see, Isiah has said this about his strategy: We are going to get younger and more athletic. He has done that. He has hired the BEST NBA coach out there for young guys. He has said the cornerstone of the Knicks is Larry, Curry, Frye. What part of those strategy pieces did you miss?

Fair enough. I'm sure Isles, you, and a few others would post five threads a day mocking me if I predicted that this group would be serious contenders to win the title. But there's nothing wrong with admitting your excitement got the better of your judgment. We all have had our excitement blurry our vision of the team at times.

thank you, its so annoying to hear people say isiah doesnt have a plan. Yes, he doesnt have your specific plan, but to say a GM doesnt have a plan is just idiotic.
