Jamal

all signed LONG term at huge dollars--NO way and I mean NO way will we win with this threesome running the show.

even IF curry got into shape and stayed healthy[who knows?] and Frye gives us a solid 17-7 our wings and PGs positions are so flawed, so imbalanced and awful TEAM type players that it just doesnt matter.

imho, i would look at it like this. we sck we really sck and the reasonably observant fan knows that these guys arent going to miraculously change

so what to do? gut it down and keep gutting it

we have already thrown bad money at bad money again and again.

time to set restraints. we must divest of atleast two of these players and hopefully all 3

For instance Luther Head crap contracts and a 2007#1 pick for Mabs
Q-richardson to sac for kenny thomas
jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson to Seattle for a 2006#1 pick and Danny Fortson

The killer of this team is Jim Dolan not any of the players.

once again, briggs' logic saves the day.

16, 6, and 6 for jamal tonight. ya, he's playing TERRIBLE!

I'll agree about Q Rich, and mostly about Steph though. Thing is.....my mom knows that and she doesn't know who Eddy Curry is.

As Emeril would say ---- BAM!

The real killer is trading 3 or 4 first round picks, and any chance of under the cap free agency, and filling the roster with bloated and unmovable contracts, all BEFORE getting franchise caliber talent.

Starting out by depriving oneself of the best opportunities to add elite talent is the arse backwards approach to a rebuild.

Fortunately Isiah's instant mediocrity plan failed miserably last year so we were able to get Frye. Oh, and thankfully the league wont let GMs trade consecutive first round draft picks or we probably wouldn't have him either,

None of the guards, with the possible exception of Nate because he is young and impressionable enough to be receptive to instruction with an open mind, seem like they can readily adapt to Larry's system. If that's true, then their contracts are a problem for this franchise in terms of replacing them.

Do you guys even watch the games? Did you notice how our bigs don't support the guards when tthey get picked off and the opposing guard just glides to the hoop? There is more going on that you guys just flat miss. How about the wasted possessions cuz there's no one to pass to who can make a shot. If Frye doesn't hit the shot, that leaves only Steph and JC as the other RELIABLE scorers on the team. Cuz it sure ain't Q, Ariza, AD or Rose. Taylor is OK at best and Qyntel just got here, so he isn't gonna get a lot of shots or floor time yet. So who are these guys that the guards are supposed to be setting up. What do those other players actually do with the shots they get? NOT MUCH!

It truly amazes me how fans at the stadium and here on forums like this can just think its just as simple as replacing the PG's and then all of a sudden the other guys would just turn into All Stars of something. Those players have to execute on both ends and produce. You can pass the ball all you want, but you can't make someone score. It would be one thing if all of our other guys were hitting the open shots they get and the FT's, but they don't. The team avg's 17 TO's a game, but Steph only avg's 3, so who is making all those other TO's? Someone is letting teams score all those points, cuz Steph doesn't guard everyone.

I agree 100000%. If the team doesn't do something drastic like this, I'm gonna end up having too many kids.

The thing that's lacking when Steph is at the point is ball movement.

More ball movement = better offense.

Simply put, with or without LB, the ball moves faster within the offense when Nate or Crawford are playing the point.

When did we trade 3 or 4 1st rnd picks??
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Guards really control tempo of the game. They control whether you play fast, slow, they direct the flow. They also are the first line of defense.
We have a lot problems beyond our guards, but everything that is important with guard play, we do not have in ANY of them. We dont have consistency, we dont have intelligence, we dont have tempo, we dont have good defense. Sure there is a LOT of blame to go around, but imho, our guard play on both sides of the ball is a the number 1 reason we sck.

And we sck, I want to emphasize that. I cannot believe, for the life of me, that a team with a 125 mm $ payroll has been blown out so many times so early and I went back and counted 20 OUT of 24 games we have been down double digits at some point in a game. Even in 3 of our 6 wins, we were down atleast 12 points in the third quarter.

I don't think he was talking about one game where Jamal played against Spurs backup and backup backup players. He's talking more about Jamal's disappointing six year career.

Personally I'd like to see Steph or Jamal or both at least attempt to play some defense.
I just hope that people will like me

to me it seemed like Steph was playing the OLE! game with Parker. It's like he gave up 0:01 into the game.

I think right now, Marbury is the odd man out- you can have Craw as a combo guard off the bench- perfect role for him really; Q? Q, where are you? If he shows up, not bad, but he is MIA & Awol. Marbury? 29, 10 years in the league and he can't figured things out after 20+ games? That and his contract and the trajectory of the rebuild going on? Trade him if possible- Sac , Houston or Dallas- anywhere.
