I've always been genuinely positive on this forum w. the exception of Trev's ability to shoot but it is now clear to me that Steph has quit on the Larry Brown program. Early on in the season I was impressed with this team's effort...they didn't always play smart but they gave effort. Even Steph was defending adequately for an NBA point guard. Tonight he played like he could care less. Several previous games to this one he played like he could care less about LB's style and was going to do things his way but he still gave some effort @ least on the offensive end. This losing streak will reveal the character winners and the losers. I finally admit it, Steph needs to go; James needs to go; Richardson needs to go. Steph & Malik to Dallas for Van Horn & Harris....do it....but he needs to go.

I agree with you about Steph and his unaggressive play. But guess what....the whole team is basically playing that way?! He's isn't the only one. So do we try to trade the whole team? Steph is not the only reason we've lost the last 7 games.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

The problem is that the team is also quitting because theres no visible oncourt leader to show them into the right direction. This team has taken on the same attitude as their "leader" in Marbury.

I dont think we can be so sure that steph quit the system just from tonights game, especially since there were alot of guys tonight that didnt play any better than he did

The Knicks have looked out of it during several recent games. The game against Indiana is the only one where they really seemed to be expending sufficient effort.

I can't tell anymore who quit. Sometimes it looks like it's just a few players, then you have nights like in Atlanta and tonight. Who knows, but there needs to be a serious wake-up call for this team

its true that marbury hasnt exactly been motivating everyone else but that doesnt mean that hes responsible for everyone elses bad play

If the past is any guide, we'll see some kind of trade soon.

Slim, I don't think he's directly responsible. I just think that the team sees him out there struggling and not taking to the system as well a Chauncey Billups or AI and they see him struggling to make the right decisions on the court that it kind of hurts the confidence of the rest of the team. The Knicks have no guy out on the court that gets in anyones faces either. Imagine if the Knicks were losing like this with Kurt Thomas around? He got in players faces, including Marburys. I'm not saying I want KT back, I'm saying the Knicks lack that leadership to get on someones ass when they aren't doing the right thing out on the court.

It is a culmination of many things that have resulted in this reversal of play on the team, first of all, LB's lack of commitial to setting any kind of rotation from the beginning, and his constant showing of contempt for certain players thru the media, causing a ripple effect amongst the team and almost seperating the vets and the kids. Which has led to the present attitude and mind set of our star player Marbury, he along with the team have not been able to relax and just play the game they have constantly been looking over thier shoulder to see what LB is thinking or what play he wants. LB should have let these guys play a more looser game from in the beginning, and let them figure things out as it unfolds, this tight fisted reign LB has the on guys has them so scared and tight that they can't breath.

This team needs to relax and just let things happen, they have tighten up so much their sneakers squeak when they breath.

I was the guy that thought the media was trying to start stuff between LB & Steph early in the season cause I thought Steph was playing hard and well by & large. The last 6 games or so, with some exceptions, he's played like he wants to be out of here. His defense (if you could call it that tonight) was the worst. There were other guys that were sleep walking tonight too but this has been 4, 5, 6 games now for Steph.

Marbury is a lifetime loser!!!!!!!!!! End of story!!!! Good job Isiah!!!!
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

I agree. Steph has quit. I think Brown is somewhat to blame, he's put Steph in a position to look bad, maybe on purpose to make a case to Isiah to get rid of him. But whatever the case, Steph isn't fighting anymore.

Maybe Isiah is scouting Toronto to do a Steph for Jalen trade or something...
