from chris sheridan's webblog:

Larry Brown isn't the only person around the Knicks who isn't all that enamored of Stephon Marbury. New York Daily News beat writer Frank Isola, who has been covering the team for more than a decade and makes regular appearances on NBA TV, wrote a column highly critical of Marbury on several levels, including Isola's observation that Marbury "sits at his locker before game-day shootarounds and makes snide comments to his teammates about reporters' fashion sense and personal hygiene. He has never sounded so cruel and small." A little history that Isola did not mention: A long time ago, before Marbury had enrolled at Lincoln High School and before Isola had left the New York Post, the pre-teen Marbury was hanging around the Garden following a college or high school doubleheader and had no way to get back home to Brooklyn. So Isola, nice guy that he is, took it upon himself to drive Marbury all the way out to Coney Island.

Isola also recalled how Marbs was a ball boy and told Isola that he hoped to one day play in the NBA and take care fo his family.

I mean damn he was working with the Daily News for 10 years and the Post before that? How old is Frank Isola?
