If he can't land Ron Artest, with the Pacers intent on sending the wayward swingman to the West, look for Knicks president Isiah Thomas to pursue Seattle's Rashard Lewis. Thomas is admittedly obsessed with length and Lewis, at 6-10, is thus an irresistible small forward.

This could only happen, granted, if the Sonics shift into cost-cutting mode. Yet if that is Seattle's response to a tough time financially, I'm hearing that Isiah would be ready to pounce with an offer featuring Penny Hardaway's expiring contract and rookie guard Nate Robinson, who's more popular in Seattle than Ray Allen after starring at Washington.

The Knicks, hopeful that Lewis' recent proclamation about opting out his contract after next season helps their chances, would also absorb Danny Fortson in such a swap.

Sounds good to me

sounds great! Rashard is the pure shooting SF we so deperately need! and Danny Fortson is a heck of a lot better than AD/JJ/Butler/Rose

I'm assuming we're going to try to get him for expiring contracts and maybe ariza, lee & future picks...make it happen zeke!

I'd LOVE to get Rashard and I'd offer anyone other than Curry and Frye. I'd consider offering Marbury but SEA wouldn't want his contract anyway. I'd prefer Lewis to Artest because Lewis isn't insane like Artest.

Wow, Rashard Lewis? For one thing fills the need at SF and the need of a shooter/3pt Shooter. I have a feeling this is just media banter BUT I'll play along for now.

AD/Craw/Lee for Lewis/Fortson

PG - Marbury
SG - Q
SF - Rashard
PF - Frye
C - Curry
bench: ariza/james/nate/fortson/butler

SEA could certainly be a team that doesn't want to pay him huge money just to miss the playoffs. Maybe we won't get someone as good as Rashard but offering the exp contracts and possibly the young guys other than Frye and Curry should give us nice options

SOLD! I would love Rashard. Not that he does the defense thing too well. Fortson would be nice, too.

The best part is that Rashard would be a wonderful *long-term* addition to the core of young players. It's not like he's a player who would help only this year.

Good shooter, not much defense. Would be an improvement.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

hell, if seattle wants to cut salary...

AD+penny+ariza+nate+SA 1st for allen+lewis+fortson

that would put them almost 30mil under the cap this offseason.

I don't believe it since it suggest that Isiah is offering Nate and I don't think he has offered any of his picks in a trade yet. He may do it later. Anyway I would rather keep Nate and try to make it work with another player. Still, we'll see if this is for real or just another guessing-work by the media...

Where does this come from? The author doesn't even mention any "sources." Looks like pure speculation to me, though of course it'd be quite nice if true.

It said Isiah could go after Lewis.

It said NOTHING about Seattle having even the slightest intention of moving him.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

As a greedy knick fan that's the first thing I thought after reading that article. Knicks have 2 Seattle natives too.

You know the guys on NBA TV were talking about ray Allen possibly falling out of favor with the coaches and higher ups with his slick comments and attitude. Not like artest,lol. They were jus saying that ray has been showing a lot of impatients with the moves the team has made or lack their of to make the team better.

Seattle has more youth than a mofo anyway. They may want to continue that trend especially since they are not winning.

Successful Scenario
Due to New York and Seattle being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Seattle had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Trade ID
Every trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario. The Trade ID for this scenario is 2735422.

Jamal Crawford is from Seattle, big snacks goes back as they " loved " him there as in him playoff performance against the kings.

C = CURRY 7'0
PF = FRYE 6'11
SF = LEWIS 6'10
SG = WOODS 6'8
PG = STEPH 6'3

I think that is a huge front line and with Woods at 6'8, well you know
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!
