Spurs pick + Q

for

Brevin Knight
Matt Carroll

Larry loves Knight's playmaking ability and we know Matt Carroll can shoot from his time here. Both guys should flourish under Larry Brown. I still don't like the prospect of Marbury starting at SG though. I would like to have shooter there. Maybe Carroll can be that guy.

What do you guys think?

I am thinking:

Craw
Q
Ariza
Spurs Pick

Brevin
Gerald Wallace
Jumaine Jones
Marvin Ely

it works as of December 27 under trade restrictions.

Then:

Marbs to Cleveland

for Hughes and Snow.

Knight
Hughes
Wallace
Frye
Curry

Bench
Snow
Robinson
Lee
Davis
Jones
Ely
James
Hardaway
Woods
Butler
Rose
Taylor

We would need to cut two players. We also would need a backup SG.

The problem with that Starting Lineup Ewing is that there is absolutely no shooting. Hughes is a pretty good shooter but hes not reliable. He's more of a slasher, same with Wallace. It would pretty much be the same problems we have now.

I agree NYK4, I was thinking that myself. I have been brainstorming for the shooter hwo could make it all worthwhile. The only lights out shooters who are remotely available are Peja and Szcerbiak. I hear that shooter Macius from NOrleans is available. That's all I can think of though. Thing is, I would rather have these slashers than the ones we have. Wallace and Hughes play good D. Our FT% would be horrendous though.

that team would lack shooting but maybe we can then add a marginal shooter off the bench like a chucky atkins. One things for sure with that lineup. With Hughes and Gerald Wallace and size size and gritty play we'd be much improved on defense. I'd try to make it happen!

I know what ur saying but I'd give him a chance because he could fit the system. I don't care how old Brevin is bottomline is we need some stability. He's played the last 2 yrs and played well and is signed to a reasonable contract, plays good defense & is a great playmaker

Yeah, they seem loathe to touch salary and they get a bit more salary for more years concentrated in fewer players. In truth, my NY bias thought I might be including too much. They would probably be less willing to give up Wallace than Knight. They have Felton who they want to develop.

I definitely think Brevin Knight would be a welcome upgrade at the point for us. Move Marbs over. Did you see what Brevin did to J Kidd the other night at the Meadowlands? Torched him is all. He is smart, a good penetrator and decision maker, and plays defense. Granted he is a tad small. Get him here!
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.
