remember in 1996 when we were still a winning club, we added 3 picks--adding picks doesnt necessarily grant you immunity from the 100+ spent on the other vets. nothing came of any of the 1996 vets, but we still managed to go back to the finals without Ewing for the most part in 99
the BIGGEST problem with the current NY Knicks is Isiah Thomas made HUGE HUGE HUGE mistakes in regards to the veteran players he spent millions on acquiring--thats the truth. Now they want to blame anything and everything--even themsleves for their own ineptitude. This is not about Channing frye or getting Ariza ready, this is the failure to realize guys like Marbury, Crawford, Taylor, Tim Thomas etc.. were all expensive spit outs from other teams--he hoped that he could take other peoples problems and turn it around here--and now that there uis a player who has the skills to be an impact--NY has NO chance to get him--and really were so far in the gutter that maybe it is waste of time.
