Now, it's been reported that Isiah is not willing to part ways with the youth for Artest. Initially, I was like "WTF?", but now I'm ok with that. Why?

  • I highly doubt that Indiana would deal with NY. And even if Isiah offers the youngins (Frye is off-limits), I doubt Walsh accepts AD+Lee+Ariza=Ron+Crosher or Q+Ariza=Ron, etc. I'm sure they could do better elsewhere.

  • Even if we added Artest now, this team is still a mess. Isiah needs to move Marbury. That should be the biggest priority. He's a great talent, but as long as Larry's here, it's not gonna work. There's no way we can get equal talent back, so go ahead and deal him for picks & expiring contract, etc.

  • I know that Artest is much better player than any of our rookies (or anyone on this team for that matter). But since we are nowhere near being competitive, I wanna see how good the youth can be with plenty of PT and experience. Play Lee!

  • Not that you can take his comments at face value, but Ron says that he'd come to NY after his current contract expires in 2.5 yrs. I'm not sure if he'd still be around in 2008(considering his volatility), but if he does come to NY, and if in the meantime the Knicks develops it's youth/team playing the right way, he can the the difference maker (a la Rasheed).

My justification for Isiah not going after Ron Ron hard...

I do think that Isiah's main focus right now is trying to find a new home for Marbury, until the point guard situation gets settled this team will not be able to focus.

I agree. It would be nice to have Artest, but we got a bigger fish to fry, and that's the PG issue.

I wonder though... what would be the best situation for Marbury to succeed? I mean it didn't work out for him in Minny, NJ, Pheonix, and now in NY. Which team would be successful with Marbury?

How close is the Do Ron Ron for Crawford?

Solid front line, but we need more guard.

Indy's problem is Stephon Jax. Dude is stupid!

To be perfectly honest it was working well in Minnesotta. He just didn't like the area. I can now sympathize, I had to spend a month there and I hated nearly every minute of it. NJ had too many issues with injuries, and other problem teammates who are now no longer part of that organization as well.

I agree totally.

I think Pheonix would have still had sucsess if Marbs stayed in Pheonix. They just got hit with the injury bug. Marbs predicted Amare would be better than KG.....that was laughed at at the time but I think that comment was right on point. When Marbs was in Pheonix he almost single handedly beat the Spurs in the playoffs the year before all the injuries.....the Spurs won the title that year as well.

Pheonix likes change and that is obvious. Seems like they blow up the team every chance they get. Since Barkley left there has been a revolving door out there.
