Do the Bulls have any picks in the draft, and do you think we could trade AD for any of their pick's? Would they go for it? They want AD back and we need a pick. Doubt it, but I'm curious as to what you guys think?

We can't trade AD back to the Bulls this season. CBA rule. if we waive him or buy him out, he can re-sign with them.

I say just let AD and Penny expire. No use taking on more salary right now just for second round pick which is about all we could expect.

do you think there is any deal we could make with chicago that would get OUR pick back?

Maybe they would do Curry and AD for Sweetney, our #1 pick and a swap of next year's #1 picks plus 2 second rounders. Nah, nobody is that stupid.

We'll have to see what players those picks turn into. But the thing is, after all is said and done in 2010, Knicks fans will look back at those drafts, see which players turned out to be great and were available at those positions and say "See! Isiah could have gotten so and so..." when in reality, there's no telling who we would have drafted or who would have turned out for us. But posters will pretend to have that knowledge.

you mean because that trade violates the CBA and doesn't work under the cap? yeah, they probably have someone to check those things.

Good point.

Hindsights a bitch! WE know what we got in eddie. To assume we can do better with the 6th pick than eddie is kinda silly.

^In 1996 we had 3 first round picks--18,19, and 21...all busts for us. You just never know.

John Wallace, Walter McCarty and Dontae Jones...number 20 was someone named Zydrunas Ilgauskas...

the only draft thing that kills me, KILLS ME, is Artest. I didn't even watch the draft that year because I was positive it would be Artest.

also, when Layden crippled the franchise in the 02 draft, that hurt, too.

Knight, you say Zydrunas Ilgauskas as if he's won championships or something. How many all-star games has he even made? 2?

I still count Artest being passed over as one of the three most disappointing parts of my life.

No, not at all, but he has been a very good player which is funny compared to how we ended up with absolutely nothing with our three picks surrounding him.

Artest is an abolute disgrace to the NBA, I can't believe he has touched your life like that, that's not right.

Well, there's a night & day difference between having the pick (possible #1 overall pick in 2006) in our hands and not having it. Yeah, who knows what it could've turned into -- real blunder like Frederik Weis? Maybe, but having the opportunity to draft is what matters, isn't it? And considering Isiah's track record, I would've been happier keeping the pick(s) as opposed to keeping Lee who is looking good in his suits.

Yes, that was one of the biggest W-T-F??? moments in recent NYK drafts.

Everybody went crazy about the pick the Knicks gave up for Marbury, turn out to be Synder who has been a disappointed and traded. He is having a little bounce back this season with the Hornets but nothing like what expected of him. I still believe Curry is worth it, but the question is why all parties involve thought David Lee was worth it. Isiah and his people, Brown, and even Paxson.

I remember watching that draft. I was on the phone with a buddy of mine when we picked. In the middle of the conversation I said "What the F***??" and he was like who did they pick. My reply was, and my buddy still reminds me to this day was "Some 7 foot french guy with a bad back."

Can people make up their minds already? When Isiah trades for a low first round pick or even a second rounder people here get all jacked up because of his supposed drafting skills but when he trades away lottery picks it's not that big a deal because it's a crapshoot or a weak draft or use some other excuse to downplay it.

I still say Curry was worth a late lotto pick. If it's like pick 8 to 14 or something, I really think Curry is worth it. A top three pick would hurt. A lot.
