According to a source close to Atkins as well as a team source, the Wizards have discussed a trade that would send Atkins and fourth-year forward Jared Jeffries to the New York Knicks in exchange for swingman Quentin Richardson. Atkins played under Knicks Coach Larry Brown in Detroit and, according to several reports, the Knicks are in the market for a defensive-minded small forward.

that would be interesting. jefferies hasnt lived up to anything, but he still is a young 6-11 F

Atkins deal expires this year and Jeffries only has one more year...Q has 4 more years on his contract...

that would be first, a salary dump for the knicks. has to be more beef to it, but we would have a very long frontline if true.

This would be a good trade for the Knicks, Atkins is a good player and clutch shooter. Jeffries should be able to crack the rotation too. Atkins would end up stealing minutes from NR and JC, but everyone should have to earn their minutes anyway. Jeffries would bury Lee even further and I hope we would never see AD or MR ever again.

It definitely would be a good deal.

if the celtics are dumping salary they need to dump davis to do it. the knicks dont sound like club who would trade for ending contracts maybe jefferies arize etc.. to boston?

Atkins would be great to have as another genuine pg. Any 6'11 player not named antonio davis is a plus.
