I wanted to take this discussion out of the Toronto thread. Would you trade Marbury to Dallas for the expiring deal of KVH and a #1? Or throw in one of our young player to get Devin Harris? I doubt IT will trade Steph to a loser and Dallas is one of those teams who could take on Steph and his contract and actually have a use for him like they had for Van Exel a couple years ago.

Dude, no way we should have to throw in one of our young guys WITH Marbury. KVH and a crappy pick for a boarderline superstar is a ripoff. Give me Harris and that *MIGHT* justify trading away Marbury as he's a stud and a possible budding star. But you don't trade Marbury for JUST ONE expiring contract and a lousy draft pick.

I would. I would rather have a first round pick than Marbury.

You'd rather have a #25 pick, a pick where maybe 1 in 8 guys turns out to be at least someone, for Stephon Marbury, who's a boarderline superstar? You are Crazy like Ron Artest near a guy with a cup of beer.

Marbury is not a borderline superstar, he's not even an All-Star in his own conference. He's on the downside of his career and a proven loser. Give me that 20mil a year back and a first round pick which I could include in other deals if I wanted and I would do it in a second.

i'm interested in devin harris. i don't think there's a chance in hell dallas parts with him. i don't think they want marbs either. and i have zero interest in kvh because i don't want him on this team and i'm not interested in using his contract to keep ballooning our payroll.

in sum, i would do marbs for kvh and devin harris, cause harris is really coming on and he's only in the 2nd year of his rookie contract. forget adding one of our young players. dallas would never do it though.

Marbury has the talent to put Dallas from at top 5 to 10 team to a title contender. I bet Cuban would love to add Marbury. Don't talk about Marbury's salary; Cuban just gave $70+ mil to Dampier

Dallas definitely isn't giving up Harris.

they may move Terry but likely in exchange for another ball-handler and 3 point shooter.

They really have no want or need for Marbury. With Avery as coach, the days of trying to outscore everyone is over. Ball control and defense is the name of the game now.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

KVH's contract expires this year.

i know - and i'm assuming isiah won't be able to resist trading him for someone who's signed much longer.

I think Mark Cuban might do it cuz he is bored......his Dallas team is stagnant right now. They got Jason Terry taking the last second shot ahead of Dirk.

Marbs and Dirk in the pick and roll is money in the bank. Marbs ability to get all the way to the rim and score is something that Dallas lacks.

Devin Harris is a up and coming player and his youth would fit in with whats going on in NY.

But.....if you are talking trading Marbs to Dallas that is a salary dumb and you are looking to tank on this season.......Knicks don't have the draft picks to fall back on next year.

So yeah Cuban would do this trade but I don't think Isiah would unless he was just gonna give up and rebuild.

Marbury would be a very good sixth man for Dallas, nobody can deny that. He could help them alot in that role and be insurance for Terry or Harris.

Mark Cuban is bored with a 15-6 team whose major components (8-9 guys deep) are 26-27 and under and still growing as basket-ball players.

wow!

Thats because you're not very bright. If it was Toronto's pick, or Atl's pick you would have a point. For Dallas' pick which will be mid to late 20's, its just plain stupid, AND we are still about 55 million over the cap, and a lottery team, with the pick of a conference finalist. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

How much would we be over the cap once KVH, AD, and Penny expire? Not 55million.

Now now, no need to get personal. I'm sure Knight is a very smart man (Or woman?) and just b/c he doesn't think as highly as Marbury doesn't mean he's a dumb sportsfan or dumb person in general.

People were saying Dallas has no use for Marbury because they have Terry and Harris, well, is Marbury better than those guys or not? If he is then they have a use for him, if he's not, he'd be a great sixth man.
