Frye schooled Bogut last night. Forget about a Frye vs. Bogut debate. I think the Bucks are happy they have their guy and we are happy we have ours.

Watching Frye shoot actually reminds me of Allan Houston. Not the form, but when he releases the ball you just expect it to go in. If it doesnt you expect the next 2 to go in. A big man that can shoot like that is such a weapon and you got a taste of how tough Curry/Frye can be together on offense. Curry needs a 10 footer and both need to learn some fundamental rebounding but the makings are there.

I also liked last night's SL. Hell.. I would gladly ride that rotation out to a 30 win season if we actually had our draft pick next year.

Nate and Frye bring some nice intangibles. That line up would like a lot better with crazy Ron thought :)

Channing Frye is gonna be a problem for the league... He is coachable, and has a good b-ball IQ. He has that outside J workin... If he gets a decent post game (Besides the hook), and can face up and take people off the dribble... Its a wrap!

He's a keeper.. I ain't been this excited about a NY Big man since PE!

He's gotta learn to play better defense.

But he's a keeper. He's gonna be very good.

Let me mention one other thing:

Now, I'm not comparing him with Bogut but a couple people mentioned Bogut's "intangibles." While Frye's scoring is great, it's actually his intangibles that excite me more. For example:

-who's giving all the quotes for this morning's papers?
-who's saying all the right things in those quotes?
-Last night, when Steph was obviously off late in the game, Frye went up and rubbed his head like a magic lamp as if to say, "that's all right fella, it's just not your night." (who's the rookie?!)
-Last night, for some reason, Frye looked like the only player out there who wanted or cared to play for our team.

Bottom line, Channing knows what the game of basketball is about and what it means to us NY Fans. That is why he's untouchable. You can't replace that. Isiah struck gold with him. Now everyone else is admitting that. Under no circumstances do you just trade that away.

I love his hook and can't believe it is not use more by younger players. He can run the court as well as you saw with that fastbreak with Nate and Marbs.

Pharzeone.. I ain't knockin the hook shot. No question I think that it should be used more in post play (NBA). Eddy Curry has been doing his thing too on the low with the hook shot. What I was saying is that, Channing Frye has the ability to put the ball down on the floor. Once he implements that into his game, he'll virtually be unstoppable! That's gonna propel him to the next level.. We forget that it is still early, this kid has years to acquire certain skill sets. I think thats impart to how he's been able to deliver thus far as a rookie. Channing Frye is gonna have to keep getting better though, because teams are already playing his jumper a little bit tighter now.. He's in their scouting reports.. If he starts dribbling, taking maybe one or two dribbles with a move to the basket.. He will keep the opposing defender off-balance thus making him a more potent offensive player.

Fish: This site is a place of mourning. No more happy notes!!

Frye has already developed the Allan Houston jab step jumper. It can be effective against big guys that don't want to guard out there anyway. But it will be even more effective when he learns to put the ball on the floor Under control. This will come with age and confidence.

I wasn't at practice watching him shoot 6 footers :)

I think I saw him take one jumpshot. Maybe I missed his other one. Well it was kind of a jumpshot. It was more of a 10 ft leaner(where he should have gone to the line). Write me back when this guy actually hits 3 or 4 jumpers from outside of 10 feet than we can talk. Until then, he needs a jumpshot.

Frye last night got the ball off the pick and roll, went up over both magloire and bogut and hit a left hand jump hook all net. I was like wow!! that is just nasty. nasty... I also like his intangibles, just watch him play team defense, and how he moves the ball, he doesn't seem to make bad passes or rush bad shots. I like his poise..

BTW: is it a coincidence that Players coached by lewt Olson are good players, I mean look at the list.

Frye, bibby,Terry, jefferson, Kerr, elliot, Both stoudamires, salim and damon, the late Brian williams, just to name a few, all of these guys can ball.....

No it's not a coincidence. Players from Uconn, Arizona, Carolina come out fundamentally sound for a reason. There coach teaches them this way. Guys from high school come out lazy and lacking fundamentals normally because they play for coaches that don't teach anything and are just happy to have a great player

Lute Olsen, Calhoun, etc demand discipline, demand fundamentals, demand energy. Once learned it's like riding a bike. Once you learn this from a coach it never goes away.

For instance Last night in a co-ed league I elbowed some 4-11 chick in the mouth after she tried to steal a rebound away from me. These lessons will stay with me forever.

Bip, your fundamentals are lacking. When a 4'11" chick attempts to steal a rebound from you, you don't secure the ball by elbowing her in the mouth. You go for the cranium. This is basic knowledge Bip.

Yes I know it's been a while since I've been coached so I'm still a little off on the little things. I meant to send a Karl Malone/Isiah type message to her but missed the mark. But I will say she didn't come back inside after that so the message was the same.

A few games ago some other 4-11 19 year old girl drove in the paint and I blocked her shiot off the wall behind the bleachers. Everyone on the other team was yelling at me for playing too hard. I said I don't know any other way and that if she wanted to play in a sissy girls league that's what she should have signed up for. Then I pointed my finger at her and told her not to ever step foot in my paint again and that if she did I would have something for her. Then I started screaming "I'm like Dikembe!"..... I love co-ed basketball!

I should point out that the commissioner and I had a little discussion about my attitude after the latest incident. Apparently I need to tone it down a little bit.

I'm trying not to laugh out loud in the school library.

You should have swatted the ball in her face instead of the bleachers and should have been like "Yeah, how do you like that now. Maybe you'll get it in the ear next time. Ohhh!" and then pointed the finger and then called her a fugazy after that. The little women love that.
