Just use cash:
AD + Penny for Artest, Bender, Croshere and Pollard.

Bender retires. We waive Pollard. Indy is at $40mm next year giving them legit cap space. Lets see them do better

A 3 way deal that might work for all parties involved.

Indy gets: Peja Stojakovic and Antonio Davis

Sacramento gets: Quentin Richardson, Trevor Ariza, Nate Robinson, Fut 1st rd pick from IND, 2006 2nd rd picks plus cash from NY

NYK gets: Ron Artest, takes on the contracts of both Austin Croshere and Jonathan Bender

I posted about this trade in the other thread but I think you have to figure out a way to get AD's contract to SacTown, and one of the Pics and Ariza or Nate to Indy.

forget Sac. Thats a stupid media fodder rumor. They arent dumping Peja. They have the inside track to resigning him, and if they want to trade him in Feb they can do a lot better than Artest or any of the cap fodder we have to offer.

Aight, so give Sacramento our 1st rd pick.. "2" 1st rd'rs for Peja aint bad (Even if it is being touted as a weak draft). Call me selfish, but the truth is we aren't gonna draft anybody nearly capable of being the 2-Way type of player that Ron Ron is.. Chicago owns the rights to our highest 1st rd pick... So deal the second one away too, if it means getting Artest!

We can't give up Frye, Curry, Crawford and Steph.. UNLESS we are getting a SUPERSTAR player in return. Highly unlikely!

Sac actually may HAVE to move him because he is a FA at the end of the year, and they just may lose him for nothing.

so why does Sac have to give up a superstar? Peja is pretty damn close. They arent giving up Peja for a bunch of CBA players and crappy draft picks. There's 100 better scenarios for him.

Just deal w/ Indy straight up

For real??? I dunno.. I thought Chicago was believed to be where Peja wanted to go. I don't know if he truly wants to be in Sacramento any more. You might be right though. Really all of these trade scenario's are souped up by the press. Bottomline is, when there is smoke there is usually fire.. I think Peja's days as a King are coming to an end.

It sound's like you're against the 3 way trades.. aight cool. That's likely what it'll take.. NY/IND straight up isn't gonna be intriguing unless Walsh says that he values salary relief over talent. I doubt that he does.. This league thrives on talent, and Peja's got more than his share. If you recall he's been rumored to be traded for Artest since 03'. Maybe it gets done this time.. Artest says he ain't stayin on the West Side, and WILL come sign with NY eventually. Why would Sacramento wanna deal with that scenario?

Jay... your talking about Sac. Not me.

Indy and Walsh have talent. They have Jackson, JO, Granger, Tinsley.. they have a very good team. My deal puts them $10mm under the cap next offseason. Thats a significant number.

Unless you think they are getting = talent for Artest. I dont. Maybe I am wrong... beleive it when I see it

On an update note...Mike Greenberg just said the Pacers deactivated Ron Artest for 3 games so they can trade him before he comes back.9:46 on ESPN2 on Mike and Mike in the Morning. I didn't hear anything about that, has anyone else?

Martin Andrew Can we condense this thread with that other Artest trade thread?

let's say we get artest, we should seriously think about moving marbury to sacratomato for bibby and skinner.

steph with peja, SAR, and miller would be a VERY good fit and the queens need a shakeup as they are a boring franchise right now. we get bibby to play a headier game and be able to hit the jumpshot as the 3rd or 4th option.

our lineup would be:

bibby, artest, SF TBD, frye, curry

with a 2nd unit of craw, nate, qyntel, mo/skinner, butler/james

This is one of those wait and see trades.. I agree w/ you that NYK will have as good a chance as anybody to make a deal w/ Indiana.( If cap relief is the #1 objective) The issue becomes what is most valued for Donnie Walsh, what he deems as most important to the development of the Pacer Franchise; as is the case with any GM's when pondering trades.

I think that he'd be more inclined to go after talent than salary (IMO).. I could be wrong. I chose Sacramento primarily because of speculation from internet sides and rumor mills. But the fact is, Indiana could benefit from acquiring a shooter like Peja. Their salaries match.. and he'd give them what Reggie Miller gave from the perimeter.. A Threat!

We'll see tho.

i don't think this gets it done b/c bender's retiring and pollard is expiring this year. there's no need for them to move bender+pollard. i think it'll come down to AD + ariza and/or lee for artest + croshere.

Not for nothing, I'd deal Steph for Mike Bibby... true story. Only because Mike Bibby although is not better than Steph (Scoring wise). He might be more of a playmaker, and definitely is more of a leader. Would Sacramento consider that deal though?

Question. This was mentioned also on the show, but where the Hell is Larry Bird during this? Why is Walsh the front man on this? We all almost agree that Bird won't deal with Zeke, but would Walsh deal with him?

Don't need a salary dump

NY sends James, Lee to Atlanta

Atlanta sends Harrington to Ind

Ind sends Artest to NY

Only real question is whether Atlanta would accept the NY package. Otherwise fair value for all teams

I agree. There will be teams willing to give up some quality pieces to get him.

i think the way the knicks get artest is something like this

taylor--portland
patterson Ariza Lee ending contract to ind
artest bad contract and blake to ny

that way the pacers get a cheap replacement two young guys and a salry cap dump.
RIP Crushalot😞
