In the games against Phoenix and the Bucks, Antonio Davis and Malik Rose got very little playing time. Nate Rob played 35 or so minutes. Q Woods played and did some nice things (While struggling on others. Redd is a tough cover though, obviously). Mo T saw very little action, as did Jerome James, while Butler saw most of the backup playing time at center in the second half. Penny didn't see a lick of action tonight. I know it's only 2 games, but is it possible that these guys are now being completely fazed out? Afterall, did anyone notice that A. Davis was only playing a small number of minutes recently. Could Mo T and James be the next guys to be glued to the bench? Or will we eventually see Davis back in the starting lineup? Or is Larry just gonna gut it out and stick with them to the death this season and hope the wins will start coming? It's been pretty interesting, to be honest, the past couple of games.

I think Larry did what most coaches would do, give the vets the benefit of the doubt, but make everyone earn their roles. i think he's basically done that, and the youth has emerged.

Sometimes I wonder why Crawford and Lee seem to still be getting the squeeze, but I think in time they too will emerge.

Yeah, I was just about to add that. I don't think we'll really know where things are headed until after the trade deadline.

Blue you have been kind of quiet man, I want to ask, what do you think of the record so far, suprises? if any on this team, and what about trading for artest?

Record: I might have expected a couple more wins but I certainly expected us to be under .500 with the roster, the schedule, and Browns break-'em-down-then-build-'em-up style. I expected a roughly .500 season and I don't rule that out now.

Surprises: You know I don't like Steph but he's looking worse than I expected. I mean seriously, give us one good 48 min performance. I didn't like him when we were playing +.500 ball and scoring, so how can I be impressed with this. Okay, the D has picked up, but the gain has come at the expense of the rest of the game. As fit as the man is, he really wearies when playing both end and is mentally blistered by the 4th quarter. Now I see why the resting on d and massages were so important to him.

I don't know, he might build up stamina as the season progresses but i doubt it, the Brown system is too mentally tough on him, at least while playmaking. try him at the two or cut him loose, but watching him trying to run the club feels like I'm watching a castrated man seducing a woman. It just ain't going anywhere...

Frye is a huge surprise, I thought he vcould be good but I didn't think he'd be ready this year. Forget the whole "soft" label. he is a finess player, but the guy is MENTALLY TOUGH! I think he's a winner.

And I'm still relatively high on Nate and Lee. Not as stars, but normally don't count on 21 and 30 picks even staying in the league a log time, but I think these guys may. And they too seem smart and tough.

It's also a bonus that the kids all seem to play well together. It's one thing that would bother me about trading some. If nothing else we know we can throw in some combination of Nate, JC, Curry, Trev, Lee, Frye, and Curry, and there will be some energy and sparks and a run. These guys are the heart of this club right now -- to break that up for guys to try to play with Steph, who's on shaky ground right now, scares me. It better be someone like Dirk, KG, or Peja to go with Steph, someone we know could fit; but not for another reclamation guy with potential. Which I guess brings me to...

Ron: As I said in another thread, before thinking he was nuts I'd have been all over it, but he's really strange. Like Rodman strange (taking time off for the rap album. Working at Circuit City while on an NBA salary, and during the regular season, etc.) And while Rodman was nuts and won in spite of it, he really only worked out with the best of the ego managers, like Chuck Daley and Phil Jackson. Best I can remember he wasn't such a big hit in San antonio. Point being, I don't really see Ron responding to Larry. Larry laughed when he said he read about Ron wanting freedom. I took it to mean "if he wants freedom why the hell is he even thinking of coming to my team." I'm not sure Ron is a real structure loving guy.

I mean part of me would love it to have him in NY, and the perverse rubbernecker in me would love all the drama and scandal that would come with him, but like i said in another thread, I see him as a short term impact guy but long term project. I mean anytime he's on the floor he's gonna make you a better team, but keeping his head on straight year after year seems like a massive undertaking.

In the end though I guess I'd give up anyone but Frye or Curry for him, though I'd like to keep the loss of the kids to a minimum. but... I'm jut not all that attached to anyone right now, so, let's spin the wheel of fortune again....

Allanfan: I think slowly you will see the young guys take all the minutes. Which means more inconsistency and more bonehead plays. I hope the fans are ready for it. I hope Marbs and LB are ready because it will be their faults after all.

I was ecstatic with frye last night. Not because of a 30 pt effort. We know he's capable of that. But that he put up 30 pts after a miserable last game. That shows mental strength.
I just hope that people will like me

Hell, that's the problem isn't it. We were still getting bonehead plays from our veterans even way. Malik, AD, Steph and Craw are turnover machines. That is hard to explain but it was the case.
