CHICAGO (AP) -- Three Chicago men were charged Wednesday in the shooting death of the brother of New York Knicks guard Quentin Richardson.

Lee Richardson Jr., 31, was shot outside the family's Chicago home Monday during a robbery, police said. His father, Lee Richardson, Sr., 62, was with him at the time but was not injured, family members said.

Elbert Dunnigan, 24, and Ishmael Clark, 29, were charged with one count each of first-degree murder and armed robbery, said Cook County state's attorney spokeswoman Marcy Jensen.

Clark also was charged with three counts of attempted murder of a police officer.

A third Chicago man, Gino Wilson, 18, was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of armed robbery. He also was being held on a Kankakee County murder warrant, police said. Wilson was wounded Monday and is in a suburban hospital, police said.

The Knicks said Quentin Richardson, 25, left the team Monday to return to Chicago for a family emergency. Knicks spokesman Jonathan Supranowitz said Wednesday the team is not discussing the details and it is uncertain when Richardson will return to the team.

Lee Richardson Jr. and his father were outside the house Monday afternoon when a van pulled up and three men jumped out. The men ordered the Richardsons to lie down before robbing them, Quentin and his sister, Rochelle Richardson, told the Chicago Sun-Times in Wednesday's editions.

Lee Richardson Jr., a Chicago music producer, fought back and was shot four times, said Rochelle Richardson, 34.

"He was everything. It's hard to believe how hard it hurts," Rochelle Richardson said. "We can't argue with God. And after it's all said and done we belong to Him anyway."

The tragedy was the second time a Richardson child was fatally shot. When Quentin Richardson was 12, his 23-year-old brother Bernard was shot to death on the city's South Side. The case remains unsolved, his family said.

Quentin Richardson is in his first season with the Knicks after playing last season in Phoenix. He is averaging 6.9 points in 14 games.

Never fight back. It's such a dumb thing to do. I was robbed in 2001 at gun point. I gave up my jacket and necklace and didn't say a word. Nothing i had on me couldn't be replaced.

Yeah me too. I decided to give the guy stuff he wasn't even asking for just to make sure he knew I was on his side. He asked me for my jacket and that was it. I was like "My watch is in my front pocket do you want that too". He was like "Yeah, I gave him the watch and he ran" Somehow he forgot aobut the jacket which was worth about $50 more than the watch.

where were you when it happened, so I never wind up in the sameplace. My father was robbed in Newark in the late 80s by 3 dudes, and the big dude had a knife. That stuff used to happen all the time. It doesn't happen as often anymore right?

It really isn't worth it. What is it that they are gonna take that you can't replace? Nothing. Unless they take your life, and most robbers aren't trying to kill people, although obviously it can escalate to that point. What a sad, sad thing all the way around.

I was in Bridgeport going to court to pay a traffic ticket. I cut down and empty side street. The guy followed me and stuck something in my back. My first reaction is usually to fight but when I felt the thing in my back I told myself to relax(that was before I peed myself). Then he asked for my jacket. It was scary as hell but I'm alive and now have a new watch. Can't even remember what the other one looked like
