i have so much to say on this topic but im gonna say it piece by piece when u guys respond. among all the leagues we have the worst referee's. fouls are soooooo inconsistent its sometimes unreal. do they know that a foul can change a game? i just wonder wat they are thinking at times.....it seems like the nfl is more ontop refs than the nba is. the director of the nfl refs is on nfl network every week explain questionable calls...wat does the nba do?

i agree to an extent, i hate the fact that superstars always get superstar calls. it sickens me
No, man, I got to tell you that European refereeing is MUCH worse. You can't really get points in the paint, because every contact is a foul. That's why I enjoy the NBA so much more than Spanish ACB. But I have to say thay NBA refereeing is starting to look like the European more and more with each season. At least that's what I think.

if all the fouls were explained to me in detail, like the nfl does then i will feel better. but i think the nba definately has a problem, its almost unfair at times....UNFAIR!!!! maybe we really need instant replay...or convert some mlb and nfl refs to nba refs...

and they probably should take a look at the silly calls that get called when the offensive man pump fakes, gets the defender in the air, and then the offensive player leaps into the defender to get the call-
if you ever watch classic games from pre- mj/magic, those were never called, deservedly so.
And someone needs to remind the refs that when manu ginobili takes 3-4 steps without dribbling, that's a a travel.

The NBA officiating sucks, the league is catering to reputations, it is killing the game, slowing it down, making it boring and inconsistent....
Right on the money!Michael Jordan was the king of the phantom foul call!No wonder he averaged 30+ points a game every year!He took 40 shots a game and went to the foul line 20 times!

killing the game indeed....i hate the phrase "the refs are letting them play now" or "the refs are making the calls now"...who gave them the right no choose?!? HEY NBA!!!! MAKE THE GAME FAIR!!!

I have to admit I have brought this up before and all I got was "Well that's just the way it is in the NBA, get used to it". But I'm glad the truth is finally coming out about what most of us really think about the refs in the NBA.

i know that. i reffed a little bit in college. man, it was hard. i am not saying that there aren't extremely bad calls but with the rules the refs can blow a whistle on every play. they have to be fair in balancing the calls. i remember one stat that jumped out at me. i remembered that in the 93 playoffs against jordan the calls were balanced at msg but in chicago the calls were doubled against the knicks than chicago. now that was uncalled for and i can not believe there wasn't much of a stink about it. oh now i remember why( #23's league).
