I told you that the fans would start turning on you after our first loss. They will say you are old and your game plan is tired and that you aren't a good coach anymore. Somehow I knew.

Dear Bip:
Although I agree with you, he still isn't perfect. Yes, Penny was a good player to have, but the minute I said on the game thread "Is LB on Crack, why doesn't he sub Frye for Penny" he did just that, so maybe I'm the one who is psychic I think LB has been doing a real good job, but like I said, it doesn't mean he isn't making mistakes. But then again, I guess it's not his fault that Curry was the only one doing most of the scoring in the first half, and then the D adjusted to him and nobody else could score. But that's why you keep Channing out there, b/c he is very consistent. His D wasn't that good the past couple of games, but that comes. It's not that ADs D has been something to marvel!

I don't know how LB ever won 1 game in the NBA without all your help.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I guess all this just goes to prove my point when we were all calling for Chaney, Wilkens and Willaims heads. Everyone said we need a real coach. Now we have a real coach and now everyone says he sucks. The reason there is no rhyme or reason to the subs is that there is no rhyme or reason to the roster. When we obtain a SF that can hit a shot outside of 5 feet and isn't really a PF, and then obtain a PG you will see the rotation tighten up. Until then guys will just have to understand that we are a team in flux.

So okay we fire Brown. Who's the next coaching genius that will save us? I say we go after Auerbach or Wooden.

anybody who said brown sucks or needs to get fired is an idiot.
he's the best coach in the biz.

i can only speak for myself but i'm a little frustrated b/c it's painfully clear that HE IS NOT playing a good rotation.

team in flux? yes. but does that mean craw and frye shouldn't be starting? nope.

I agree 100%. And no Bip, that doesn't mean I want Larry fired. It just means I want our best players playing more minutes than our worst players. And no Nalod, it doesn't mean I want Isiah coaching this team.

Well let me say this. It's hard to be a consistent ball player if you are not getting consistent time. Starting one night and getting no minutes the next night is crazy.

People starting because they are from that city, played for that city or their grandmother is in town in that city is crazy

Malik rose and AD taking minutes from Frye last night is crazy

And no Trevor Ariza against a team without their starting sf was absolutly ludacris

I have to say, I am disturb by that. And the AD fascination is the most troubling. I think he is making up crap to save face with AD production. If Frye is so tired than about trying Lee or move Butler to the 4 while Curry is in there. Has to be something better than AD. Also shot selection. I understand getting Steph to drive the ball is crucial to draw fouls but Nate and Craw are treating these games like exhibitions. I don't think Trevor and Brown are getting along, and I believe the guy is waiting for the end of the season. Brown does destroy rosters. Much like Godzilla, he causes damage, scare people, cause people to flee and win battles but in the end he just walks out to sea to destroy another city.

The pistons owner said he is not good people. And with his ears I'm sure he heard something that persuaded him to say that. SEE Pic

Fans are so short sighted sometimes.....

Does Larry Brown get a free pass; no what you have done doesn't matter, its what your doing at your current position....yeah Larry is a great coach he is making his players better, but just because he has won it doesn't excuse the fact that he is losing games because of his rotation....

Our second best player is Frye who came off the bench after MO ****ing taylor last night, he starts players in their home towns like its ****ing senior day, has been using awful combinations all season and has really not allowed the team to get any momentum.....sooner or later you need to cut your losses AD should get 10 min max a night, why is mo taylor playing, you can't play three centers....figure out who to play at small foward

IF Larry is such a good basketball coach he needs to find a rotation and stick with it you can't keep everyone happy.....

I love getting a chance to mention my coaching career. Yay. I won 3 straight state title. The year before I won I was berated for not knowing basketball. I was an idiot for not knowing who to play and had horrible rotations. Everyone was a coach. When they asked me why I was so stupid I answered the same way everytime. "There is a method too my madness". When they asked me again I would say " I need to understand my team and learn to coach better".

The truth is that the coach's see the same things you see. They also see 5 million things that you don't see. LB knows who is and who is not producing. If he didn't we would be coaching and he would be talking on this website. The second year I won the title with a set rotation. The next two years I won with a set rotation. Everyone thought that I won because I finally started to listen to what they were saying. I "finally got it" The reality is that I won the next three years because of the lessons I tought the freshman and sophomores the first year.

LB has been here 18 games. He is considered the best or second best in the league. Who are you getting that is better. It's frustrating and I know we are all reactive and respond to every win and loss but give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Championships are a process. LB is not coaching so that you can brag about being the 8th seed. He is coaching and teaching for the future. Unfortunately that means the young guys will have a much shorter leash than the vets because they are our future and have to learn. In the meantime accept the inconsistency and the losses and give it time.

Guys figure it out: LB is starting guys based on the city they grew up in. Do you not think there is a message in all this? Or do you think it's more plausible that LB went from a two time finalist with a championship ring to a senile old man overnight?

Which is why no matter what he does posters here will be unhappy - until the knicks are winning - then only 75% will find reasons why brown sucks.

Outside of Knicks fans - nobody expected this team to win and everyone knew it would take a while to turn around.

Yet - this team is doing exactly when any reasonable (non-fan) thought they would do an it's somehow Browns fault.

The team takes bad shots and makes bad decisions - guess what you have a team made of veterans with a history of taking bad shots and making bad decisions and rookies and second year guys who are still learning. You ain't gonna change years of bad habits in 20 games.

He ain't starting Frye - But over the last 10 games he's averaging over 30 minutes a game. That's plenty - he's still a little foul prone and Rookies tend to hit a wall - because the transition to an 82 game season is difficult.

Craw ain't starting - Well is Craw playing better under brown or worse? If he's playing better what's the beef - he's started for other coaches and didn't play as well.

This teams' personal either needs to learn quickly or they need new personal. In either case I don't see how it's Browns fault it ain't like he took over a contender and now they suck. He's trying to see if he can turn what has been a team that has sucked into something decent. I don't get why people had such short-term high-expectations for this team. At best it is a team that has potential that will take a lot of work, including trying different rotations - before it gets better. At worsed it may never get better no matter who coaches. But I'll take my chances with Brown.

Bippity, you have hit the nail right on the head my friend. Absolute excellent post. Larry is here for 5 years and he's coaching this team right now so that when years 3,4 and 5 roll around that this team is ready to be a contender. He is not coaching to win a title this year. This franchise sorely needed a foundation before it WENT anywhere and Larry is building that right now. Yes AD and Malik are playing minutes but at the same time they are also teaching the Frye, Butler, Curry, Lee, Nate, Crawford, EVERYONE and getting them adapted to the system and that is the most important thing right now. Larry is also weeding out the players he doesnt like by getting these guys ready to play in his system and whoever doesnt fit can say goodbye, this expediates the process so the Knicks can win sooner. If the Knicks make the playoffs this year, it is icing on the cake, this year is a foundation year, you can spin it anyway you want but thats what it is.

Before Larry got here the franchise was in shambles with no light at the end of the tunnel and now that he's here, he's going to make this franchise that much better, so that 3-4 years from now and when his contract is over that the team is still at the top of the NBA and still going down the right way of a one-way street.
