There's ongoing mostly negative sentiment on this board regarding Marbs. He is what he is, he's a scoring point guard or a shooting guard that is a career 8+ assist player. There are very few PG's in this league that make the other players better. I can think of two in Nash and Kidd and I don't think that it's all in the PG hands, I think it's in the system utilized by the team. I believe the IT knew what he was getting in Marbs, a scoring point guard. IT was a PG himself do you think he didn't know what he was getting? I have always liked scoring point guards, the more weapons you have, the more you stretch defenses. Nash and Kidd appear to be better (and maybe they are) because they have been involved in up tempo systems most of their careers, the Knicks have had this semi-predictable, half court offense forever and that kind of offense works only when you have multiple scoring options and we haven't had that since the days of a healthy Ewing, Spree and H20.
