You guys have a lot of patience with Eddie. I remember most wanted to kill Frye in the preseason.
I don't think there was that much patience. Many gave up on him during the summer league.

BOttom line, let's see what happens around after the All-star break.. If Curry doesn't progress by then, you might as well agree that he was all hype with no consistent game.. If he turns out what is expected of him then whoever had believed he was a flop, was wrong..

I actually want to go give him one full offseason to work with Aguirre under the supervision of Larry and Isiah. Maybe by this time in 2006 I'd have a more complete judgment of him.

I have a feeling that Curry is more tradeable than what we gave up.

He's young yet

If Curry doesn't really have a heart problem then why did he come into camp out of shape?

If Curry was cleared last spring/summer by his cardiac specialists, then why wasn't he playing all summer long in those pickup games in Chicago to help keep him in basketball shape?

If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Cause he didn't have a contract. Can't hurt yourself before that. Ask Willie Green of Philly. ACL or something the day before he was to sign a contract.

What about a treadmill? An exercise bike? Swimming? He's not allowed to keep himself in shape because he doesn't have a contract? He's a professional athlete, there's no excuse to come into a season in anything less than your best shape. To cut him slack now for not being in shape is such a load of crap. Unless you believe that he does have a heart condition. So is he lazy or does he have a heart problem? Or both?

he did work out with Tim Grover, but its like Martin said. He worked out enough to not be a fat slob but he was clearly a month away from being in playing shape.

Not playing ball for long periods of time and then all of jumping back into it at full speed is a definate red flag. He's lucky its just a bum calve. Just before I blew out my knee I was experiencing calve pain too. His legs are not in game shape yet. I would shut him down and let him get in the gym and work his way back on the practice court.

No matter how many miles you can run or how many laps you can do in a pool, it will not stop your legs from feeling like spagetti when you are playing a compeditive game of basketball. Buleedat!

Eddy usually starts out slow anyway, add that to what he's been going through. I don't think we'll see the real Eddy until the second half of the season.

They say the Lord is a prankster

possible outcome to all this

Curry = Dice, Marbury = Houston, Isiah = Layden

time is circular and those who make the same mistakes are due to suffer the same punishment

absolutely. this is excuse central. Its only his 5th year in the nba

let me see what has eddie curry improved on in 5 years --same cat as a rookie, really. he is mentally weak, he isnt physically tough for a 290 pound 6-10 dude. his fundamentals are 1/2 as good as Jackie Butler's. love affair over--where is george steinbrenner--where is tough management to get in this guys face. people want jackie butler to start?

we just gave UP our next TWO drafts for the right to keep david lee--at the very least--after 16 games--shouldnt eddie curry get off his arse and play harder? i remember the question--would you trade curry for sweetney some said yes some said no--but that didnt include two really unprotected picks when NO one else was signing him.

Now Eddie Curry get off your FAT arse and play-- you're an impact nothing yesterday you looked a whole lot weaker than kendrick perkins
