I don't know what you guys think but I strongly believe the Curry trade was a mistake.

I know it's early into the season but this is the same old tune from Chicago. "He's not in shape" or "He's currently injured" or "He's not conditioned".. Same excuses for Mr. Curry..

Right now, Sweetney who is durable is playing better ball than Curry.

We're better off without Curry.. Even though he's only 22 or 23 yrs of age, when will he bust out in the league??? It's already been 4 yrs!!!! Channing Frye is definitely the best big man on the Knicks and will always be better than Curry..

I don't know if you read about how Curry got into b-ball but his b-ball IQ is very low.. It was his enormous size that got him in.

WHat you've been seeing from him over the past 2 yrs is what you're gonna get.
16pts and 7 to 8 rebounds for a 280pd, 6'11 beast??? This guy should be averaging over 11 rebounds a game consistently...

I just think he's out of shape, injury proned player who doesn't give his all..
We might as well put "30million dollar man for 5 yrs" Jerome James in the middle if he can stay healthly along with Frye @ the 4.

He didn't work out the whole off-season and has been getting in better and better shape all season. I disagree. Giving up sweets for him was a no brainer. All of the critiques of Chicago say how they have no post presence. Can't say that about us with Curry.

Curry will be fine, you are overreacting.

What is he doing better than Curry? Sweetney is healthy and unlike Curry didn't have to take March through Oct off from basketball. But he's still not scoring or rebounding or shot-blocking better than Curry. If you want to aim high, Curry's the better gamble. I'd like to see what will happen after Aguire, Isiah, and Larry work with and closely supervise everything Curry does for an entire offseason.

Killa, this guy i will admit improves our post game and looking @ him , he looks like a beast but he's always getting either injured or a health issue.. last 2 yrs with Chicago, it was an issue... I think anytime he starts to get on a roll, something happens which sets things back.....

You can't jump on Curry for his play this season. He's really been at a disadvantage due to the whole Heart thing. I expect that he's going to be fully supported by this organization and trained by our top notch staff. He'll eventually reach his potential here and I think its clear that his potential is higher than Sweetney's.

Curry hasn't even been in shape yet this year and he's doing what Sweetney does for the most part. Give the guys a chance to get it together. LB will get the most out of this guy. You'll see.

If Curry continues to sit then I would say that I would be concerned about his overall health and ability to play, but I think it's too early to say that he as been a disappointment or anything like that, I just want him back on the court real soon, like today!

you make this trade every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Without gutting the team and getting high draft picks for 06 and 07, there's no way in hell we would've had a shot at someone with Curry's potential. He may never get it together, but he's still a pretty good pickup in his current form (sans injury).

You guys have a lot of patience with Eddie. I remember most wanted to kill Frye in the preseason.

the problem is, in the draft, the stakes are much lower. we invested $60 mil in curry. spending a draft pick on potential is one thing, paying a guy like a star on potential is much different. if you make a mistake in the draft, it sets you back a year at worst (discounting sam bowie over jordan type bloopers). a mistake on curry sets us back years because of how much we pay him and the picks we gave up to get him.

i was against the curry trade when it happened, but am ready to root for him. but even when curry gets back, what does it change? our D doesn't get significantly better. it doesn't help our ball handling or turnover problems. i would rather have tried to draft a shotblocker with more limited offense and upside but not the bum rap curry has earned over his career. still, we are a team that we should be willing to wait on, so let's see what curry is made of when he gets up to speed, and hope he can give us more than what he has so far.

He was off for months. He wasn't in game shape because of that. For a big man not in shape, for reasons out of his control, a minor leg injury early in the season is almost automatic. If he isn't in shape and isn't playing well in April, then this thread makes sense. Until then, it is retarded.

Successful Scenario
Due to New York and Minnesota being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Minnesota had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

They get expiring contracts, youth and i center in return !!
