The excitement is definately there with Channing and I think its gonna be a close race with Chris Paul. With the amount of 20pt games channing has had I'd say its dead even.

Paul's putting up 17/7/6 playing a more difficult position (PG) and he's turned the Hornets around from the bottom of the league to a .500 team. Right now, he should be well ahead of Frye (who should be 2nd in rookie rankings). Paul probably should have been the sole winner of rookie of the month with Frye 2nd in voting. Paul's playing better and his team is too. That's nothing against Frye. Adding Frye, Nate, Lee, and Curry was a wonderful offseaon that gives us a lot to be excited about in the long-term.

If the Knicks step up, and the Hornets cool off (and I think both will happen) it will become closer, but I essentially agree, Paul is ahead.

Bonn, they have two rookies of the month, One for the East and One for the West, that's why they both were named ROM. Who cares whether one is better than the other jus be happy that Frye is one of the two best Rookies at this time, It's a long season, anything can happen between now and April.

If Frye is going win ROY he'll have to do more than score. Paul and Bogut's teams are winning games and specifically because of their all around play.

Right now Frye is a complimentary player.

Paul is makin the gears move in Oklahoma.

Not even close really.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

until eddy curry gets his act together frye is the best frontcourt player the knicks have, despite his weak rebounding. the only reason pual puts up better #s and is considered to be making the gears move as you put it is becuase he starts and gets starter minutes.

^ Frye gets starter minutes too.

His rebounding is AWFUL. But yes, he's a terrific scorer and will only get better in that dept.

yeah you have a point, if you factor in tonights game pauls and fryes minutes arent as far apar as I thought theyd be, well for the record if I had to vote for rookie of the year I would give the nod to pual, but frye would be second,

It would help Frye's case if he started rebounding again. 3 rebounds in 34 minutes is pitiful. He had 3 boards against the Pistons, too.

Paul's team is winning a lot more than the Knicks while both are scoring. And, Paul is getting assists and maybe even more rebounds a game than Frye if you can believe that for a 6' guy.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Actually Frye is getting 5.9 rebounds per game vs Paul at 5.6 per so far this year.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

How do you think Frye's 26.3 mpg is equivalent to Chris Paul's 36.9? That's 50% more minutes a game!

Now- I think if Frye continues to develop and play a greater role, he might be there...

Frye's rebounding at the rate of about 9 per game if given the playing time Paul gets.

If Frye can pick his rebounding and shot blocking up it'll be no contest. Right now CP3 is the man.
