These days in the NBA it's hard to really find any legitimate rivalries because the league has become so much bigger than the days of Magic vs Bird and the Bad Boyz vs Jordan and his Bulls.

That's why it's time to start a new battle with these Knicks and the Pistons because it's already at a point where they have players and coaches who are associated with the other team. Well it's really more like the Knicks taking all the personnel from the Pistons.

Isiah played point for the team who later wouldn't consider him for a front office gig after he retired. Larry coached the Pistons to two finals appreances and one a championship and let him tell it was wrongfully let go. Jamal and Mo T both played for U of Michigan and Channing Frye has been described as the next Rasheed Wallace.

I know all them cats on the Pistons want to prove to the world that they can win the ship without LB and I know Joe D wants to show he's a better GM than Isiah since Zeke took all the accolades when they played together. Taking all these things into consideration if we can get a record over .500 than this can really become a good battle for years to come. What do you guys think ? Can this become a new rivalry or is it a very good team vs a team that will be good three years from now?

Bulls/Knicks should be good in the long run. We basically adopted players from each team, old rivals, similar talent level now. Both intense coaches.

The real rivalry would be Knicks/Bulls in the long run..
2 young teams with alot of subplots. Curry vs. the Bulls organization
Skiles vs. Brown = 2 discipline coaches, crawford vs. his former team, Ben Gordon coming back to battle his hometown, Sweetney vs. the team that drafted him.

Both teams eventually will be competitive around the same time..

Not Knicks vs Pistons !! both of them are curently not in the same page.. Right now the pistons are way better than the knicks but don't have a young team.. This Pistons teams got about 2 more yrs left to compete for a championship before they start to decline..
