Thats awesome, Channing has played extremely well this year and has been a pleasure to watch. It's been a long long long time since a Knick has recieved a ROTM honor.

how are the players chosen for the rookie game and is there a chance the knicks have 2 players? Can one team have two players?

I'm happy for Channing. He's working hard and a much tougher better player than he was a year ago.

The trade of Kurt Thomas, the best bigman they had for Quentin Richardson (and his overpriced contract) only compounds their hopeless salary cap situation. Channing Frye is not the answer to all of their problems inside, despite having Spike Lee's approval on the pick. He's not big, strong or tough enough to be an impact center in the league. Acquiring Nate Robinson (21st pick) in the Quentin Richardson deal from the Suns gives them a scrappy backup point guard, but the Knicks focus should be on cutting down the salary cap before it begins to approach the national deficit. David Lee brings energy, but there were many other more talented players on the baord at 30. The deal adding Quentin Richardson is essentially one step forward two steps back. They are stockpiling overpriced perimeter players with no concern of their cap nor apparently winning a championship. All things being equal, Richardson is the talent in the deal, but the contract is out of hand. The Suns sure appreciate having a clueless GM like Isaiah Thomas around. They've been able to dump a number of their long term salary cap problems off on the Knicks (Marbury, and now Q). The Spurs were able to add the key piece (bigman Nazr Mohammad) to their team to win the title this year. The question many are beginning to wonder is how Isaiah still has a job.

Just wanted to show people what a few idiots had to say about Channing after draft night

New York
It was an interesting night for the Knicks, as they finalized the Kurt Thomas-for-Quentin Richardson deal and used the No. 8 pick to select Thomas' replacement, Channing Frye.

Isiah Thomas faces the following dilemma: Granger better not wind up being better than Richardson. Ditto for Green. If 'Q' doesn't blossom into the star he can be, this will end up a disappointing night, because although New York got younger inside, it also got less physical. Frye is still a little frail and more of a finesse center, so he better toughen up or be ridden mercilessly by New York's impatient fan base.

In the Richardson deal, New York acquired the rights to the exciting Nate Robinson, a 5-9 pace-changer who is certain to be a crowd favorite if he ever finds time in a crowded backcourt that features Stephon Marbury and Jamal Crawford, two other shooting guards disguised as points.

The team's second first-round pick, David Lee, was booed. He's unlikely to ever be more than a Brian Cardinal-backup type, and is now under contract for at least two seasons. Boo.

The Knicks were fortunate with Trevor Ariza last year and raided UCLA again in Round 2, selecting Dijon Thompson -- but packaging him in the Phoenix deal. Grade: C.

The guy from Nbadraft.net said that this one here is from sportsline

Wasting Dad’s Money

New York: D+

The only thing that keeps this a barely passing grade is the possibility that Eddy Curry might prove to be a productive, All-Star caliber center for the Knicks for the next 10 years or so. Short of that, basketball boss Isiah Thomas will have committed about $90 million to one center (Curry) with a malfunctioning heart and another (Jerome James) who rarely seems to have one at all. Nothing against Curry -- who does seem to have his life's priorities a little jumbled, regarding medical precautions -- but it would serve Thomas and New York right if the big man eventually were deemed unfit to play. Draft picks Channing Frye and Nate Robinson, at least, looked good in the summer.

This one is just ludacris it has to do with the whole offseason. I just posted it becaue of the ludacrisness that spews from this guys mind.

That's Great, For Channing!. He deserves it, he has been working his butt off!. I am sure he will continue to work harder and harder at his game and keep his poise doing so, He's a Great Kid, who along with Nate and David have made this season so much more fun and exciting to be a Knick fan it's been a long time!.
