Is it me or is Larry Browns rotation starting to tighten up?

8 players with double figure minutes?
5 players with 30 or more minutes?
1 player with 20 plus minutes?
2 players with 10 plus?
2 guys with less than 10?

It started with the Philly game. Yeah we lost to Miami but we can't win them all.....point being is these Knicks especially against Chicago showed a glimpse of a little chemistry that can only get better if Larry Brown keeps a basic core of guys in the game while he makes his minor tweaks here and there.

This is all I ask people. Finally after all this time.....I feel like he could have done this from the start.

Another thing......Nate and Channing in the starting line-up? Wow.....finally.....Channing deserves to start what 5 games ago?.....and Nate at the very least needs to get heavy minutes and shots rotating with Craw and Marbs and finally he has been doing that and the kid is kicking ass.

This is Larry's show to control and he needs to keep things building the way they are so Isiah can fill in the pieces much later on like the Feb trade deadline.....not Dec 25th!

Go Knicks!

Mo Taylor Antonio Davis and Jackie Butler should only play in garbage time. Marbury, Crawford, Nate, Frye, Curry, Rose, Ariza, Lee (and Q once he gets healthy) are the only players that should get significant minutes. this is what I have learned from the last 14 games. although larry brown will undoubtedly play davis over lee

i don't see it being so settled. i think there's still going to be a lot of tinkering ahead. q is too good of a player to end up being nothing more than what we're presently seeing. lee has a lot of game and energy and will be a great match up at times for us. same with ariza. the return of curry will change the minutes of the pf's.

also, the next loss to a bad team will have everyone clamoring for MAJOR CHANGES! ;-)

Is it me or does David Lee always add a spark when he comes in. Looking back I think with the exception of one game, Lee always adds hustle and momentum to the Knicks. He may not score big numbers, but he does the intangables and I can't figure out why that doesn't translate into more minutes, with guys like AD (especially last night) not being able to hold on to the ball, went through his legs twice and bounced off his chest twice. Don't get me wrong, AD is and will be a great roll player, but his quickness is gone. Either AD OR Rose, with both we become stagnant.
Love this game...

I agree with all of this but larry brown appharently doesn't, davis lee actually does all of the intagible things that people think davis does even though he doesnt really. (I remember their was a stretch last night where AD almost turned the ball over like 5 times in a row, .) Fishmike is right, antonio davis needs to get injured, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.

I do think the rotation is starting to get set- I mean Frye is starting and playing major minutes- that much has been solidified.

I too scratch my head about Lee- he brings energy- as does ariza. granted, they tend to score on broken plays, fast breaks, offensive rebounds- still lee had a nice drive last night- I'd expect more of that.

what is it that larry sees?

AD had one nice steal last night that ended up with Chandler being fouled out

The rotation won't be set until after the trading deadline.

Whoever is hurt or not playing cuz they are fat, except for curry, have to get in where they fit in. Right now butler is playing we'll so James is gonna have to out play him before he gets minutes. Same for q. Q has to prove he his healthy by out playind malik and ariza.

Lee just gets screwed cuz of browns infatuation with the old tard Davis.

Things are looking up. I just hope that this rotation stays solid with minor tweaka depending if guys start to step up.

I think that Rose gets minutes in an attempt to boost trade value. Can't understand why Rose is starting (playing). I don't think his defense is so good that he should be getting the minutes he is. Honestly, what is so good about his defense. Does his D not show up in the numbers? Blocks, steals, rebounds? All I see is bricks.

You can be a very good defensive player and have no steals and no blocks. Defense is about making the other teams offense less efficient. Many players gamble too much on blocks and steals and give up good defensive position. Trying to judge a players ability to play defense on those stats (especially steals) is not going to lead to accurate conclusions.

As far as rebounding roses stats aren't bad - but even there stats can be deceptive and Roses main assignment is doing a good job boxing out.

Rose is a good team defender, he directs the defense, but on offense he really needs to learn to just get out of the way.

For some reason he thinks he can take anyone one on one. And for some reason he has the green light to do it. Its incredible really, watching him go 1 on 3, turn it over, and not a word from the bench. If he could only just realize that he can't score because he can't shoot, or finish at the rim, and just play defense and look for offensive rebounds that you PASS OUT every time, he would actually be very usefull.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

It's probablly just because there aren't enough minutes to go around. Of the rookies, Lee seems to be the odd man out. I'd have to guess it is because the Knicks need guys who can score. Lee seems to be a prolific rebounder and a pretty good passer, so personally, I like to see him out there. I'm not sure about his defense though - that might be a problem area as well.

Lee is biding his time, he knows AD isn't here after this year and the glut at PF will begin to thin out...he's more the "traditional Knick Rookie"

MoT is the scoring PF off the bench, Rose is now a chubby sf as opposed to an undersized PF (which I'm extremely happy with).

Curry/Frye are for sure the starting front court of the future. The offense defense PF subs are...I think...Lee/MoT (who is still young and did you notice how thin he's looked?)

A couple of bad games does not a MoT bench make...i think he's happy with his role as well.

BTW...Has anybody complained about playing time yet?

If you watched Aguirre after the game last night, he said point blank that the rotation is being tightened and it will continue to be tightened. Larry is giving everyone a chance to play the "right way" and those that don't are being benched. He said they aren't being "stuck" on the bench though.

As for Lee, he said we can expect to see a lot more of him soon and that we should expect to see amazing things from him.
