"They could use me against every team," James said. "Detroit, Chicago, any team that has a center. We don't have any shot-blockers. We're last in the league in blocked shots. That's because I haven't played yet."

FUNNY GUY... fouling doesnt equate to shot blocking.... get this guy outta my face!!!

To be fair, he's averaged 1.3 BPG during his career, and 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 during three seasons. If he could manage his career average for blocks this year, he would be in the top 30 shotblockers in the league. If he could pull what he did last year (1.4 BPG) he'd be in the top 25. Not bad if he can keep fouls down, and to be fair he hasn't been given that much of a chance.

It's not always about shotblocking.....I don't notice any need for shotblocking this season. The Knicks overall defense has been ok. If Jerome can get out and block some threes then he is talking.

The Knicks currently rank 22nd in the league with 4.2 blocks per game. (No readily available stats on blocks per 100 possessions.) Last season, Jerome James ranked 7th among all players with at least 1000 minutes played in blocks per minute. So we could use a bit more shotblocking, and Jerome James is one of the best in that category.
