memphis would never do it, and its too early for the knicks to do it as well.

I'd do it. Battier give you Ariza's d + some (although limited) offense. He's a very savy player.

you have a better shot at Mike Miller who isnt starting and makes more money. I also cant see them taking JJ.

I think something like Lee, ARiza and AD for Wright and Mike Miller.

I have a feeling Big Game James is going back to the west after Dec 15th.

I hope you're right but what team would be dumb enough to take him? oh and also as crazy as this sounds I beleive jerome james should be given 1 or 2 more chances before the knicks actively look to trade him.

Miller is alot like Wally Z, IMO.....see here is the thing...if we get Q going, IMO he is the PERFECT compliment to Steph and we don't need a long range gunner at the 3, but a solid steady force such as Battier...If we decide Q isn't gonna be here or we are not going to maximize his abilities, then a Miller is a better fit....

That trade leaves Memphis without anything resembling a center. Unless we put in something that passes as a center why would they trade Wright? There is also no way I give up both Lee and Ariza for anything less than a lower level star, IMO...

Wally and Mike Miller are more mid range guys. Wally is the anti chucker. He's been a 50% shooter for his career. Pretty darn good. Not sure what Miller's is but he's more a midrange guy than a straight up bomber. Mikes a very complete ball player... high IQ and great team guy

But do we need more midrange guys?!? We need some guys that can be a threat from three is Q isn't that guy...If Q is I just feel the rugged Battier is a better fit than Miller (better defense, better all around, IMO) than Miller or Wally, but if he isn't I think that Miller or Rashard Lewis are perfect fits for this team...like I said this is all based on what we have with Q.

well with Mike I'm thinking all around player. Not just a midrange guy, but a play maker as well.

Wally's World would do wonders for this team. A bonafide consistent long range threat is what we need.

our team is most effective with multiple ball handlers on the court. if lb doesn't want to play craw and steph together, we'll need a guy that can shoot AND dribble the ball (miller). but if he's going to go with a steph/craw backcourt, then we can give up a little in the dribbling aspect of it (wally).

Mike Miller is a good player......I dunno who the Knicks could get him. The Knicks just don't have the players that Memphis can use. Even Battier. They have good young big men too....and they have Dantay Jones waiting in the wings.

Trading with Memphis doesn't make sense.

dj I agree 100%

Those line ups have an impact in the post also. We stink when we dump the ball into Curry. Here's what you get. Pound pound pound the ball followed by a jump hook or an offensive foul while everyone stands around. It sucks, it doesnt work

BUT

When we have 2-3 ball handlers on the floor and the ball is moving in the guards hands its a different story. When Marbury, Crawford or NAte are attacking the basket or penetrating into the paint good things happen. Either they get a good shot for themselves or they pass it for Frye for an open look or when Curry gets the ball and makes a quick move against a defense thats adjusting to penetration the results are fabulous. Usually a dunk, and an one or a layup.

I think our ideal would be
Marbury
Crawford
Mike Miller
Frye
Curry
with Mo T, JJ, Rose, Nate, Q off the bench (assuming I use some combo of Ariza/Lee/Butler to get Miller)

I just think he's one of the better fits out there for us.

Like I said I think the fit depends hugely on Q. If he can be what he was in LA and to a lesser degree PHX, we don't need a guy like Miller, and a guy like Battier would be a better fit...but I have to concur that Q has not been what he was so in the long run Miller may be the choice.

Now this is a trade i would do because Battier is exactly the type of sf we need. And it would give us a chance to sign another player. Sprewell anyone?
