New York re-signed guard Jermaine Jackson and traded him along with forwards Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney, a 2006 conditional first-round pick, second-round picks in 2007 and 2009 and a conditional right to swap 2007 first-round picks to Chicago for center Eddy Curry and forward Antonio Davis.

dont get excited. The condition is if the pick is 25-30 it goes to Utah (Marbury trade).

Our #1 next year is going to Chi or Utah. NOT to us

I'm more interested in the 2007 swap. What's the condition there?

I'm confident we will have a better record than them by then. It would be nice to have that higher pick in the 07 draft.

in 2007 the Bulls have the option to move up if our pick is better than theirs. If they pick 25 and we pick 1 they get #1 and we get #25

Isiah will shaft someone for picks if he sees someone that should be on the Knicks.

Theres more to it than that. I read somewhere(not sure if accurate but) that depending where next years pick is that chicago gets ,then the next year option to switch may be cancelled.

Yeah, I didn't hear that anywhere. Unless we make a trade, the only draft pick we get this year is the one from San Antonio. GO EVERYONE IN THE WEST AND NOT THE SPURS!!!!!!

I think most gms are aware of the comparative strength of the 07 draft and will not deal out picks like free cookies (isiah)

my worry is that last first rounder we owe to PHO. anyone know when that comes due? at a certain point it becomes unprotected as well.

I think that Pheonix traded that pick to Utah and we only have to trade it if it's pick 25-30. This makes me wonder if Isiah will just give the Spurs pick to Utah to complete the Phoenix deal before the pick becomes unprotected. I think the Knicks pick this year is going to be anywhere from 10-18 and in a weak draft no less. So I'm not concerned with not picking this year. We have plenty of youth. Sure, it'll sting if we miss an opportunity at drafting a strong young player, but Curry is a worthy gamble. Finally, as far as the swap in '07 goes - I don't think we have to worry too much about that. I feel pretty confident that our record will be better than the Bulls by then. Despite the losses early this season, our team is showing improvement. There are real reasons to have hope.
