I know Larry loves AD but this kid is our best frontcourt player. His shooting touch is sick and he's got a nice set of post moves he didnt even have to use today.

You know there is going to be some down games... peeks and valleys but he's always composed and makes great calls with the ball.

Also I've bee pining for a small line up all year and it was awesome today. The NBA has new rules that simply favor guards. Its much easier to get space on the perimeter than it was a few years ago

I think now that Frye has seen the Starting Lineup and as long as he continues to play as well as he has that he's going to stay in it. I think Larry has a TON of confidence in Channing, I think the evidence of that is the play that was drawn up at the end of regulation for him, you don't see Larry do that with many rookies.

Starting unit should be:

Marbury, Crawford, Rose, Fyre, Curry

until Curry is healthy keep AD in there

I just don't get Brown's fascination with Davis other than the fact that he was great with Pacers. He continues to give credit to Davis over Frye, Marbury or Crawford at times. The sad thing is if the Knicks were like 7 and 5, you wouldn't see Frye that much. The weird rotations continue. But yeah Frye not only should be a starter but the guy should be your second option after Curry. Marbury should make sure to involve those guys first and then get his which he is capable of doing.

What would our record be now if Channing had started and played 30 mpg from the beginning of the season? I'm thinking no worse than 6-6.

I think it all could be a blessing in disguise. If your someone like me, who believes that this team has been working out the kinks of a new coach and rookies(and still are working out these kinks) that the Knicks will be better in the long run this season because the early losses gave the team the option to play Frye alot more then they would have, had the Knicks started off hot and winning games. Right now their 4-8 but there are quite a few positives to look at right now at 4-8, one of them being Mr. Channing Frye.

If not, Larry needs to be asked about why not as as often as Scott McClelland is asked about Iraq.

After today, I will be very surprised if Frye isn't in the starting lineup on Monday. I know Brown has like a love affair with Antonio Davis, but Frye could not have played any better in his first career start. That is something you don't see very often.

Let's hope so. If anything, bring Curry off the bench until his effort is as consistant and reliable as Frye's at both ends of the floor. I still don't think Brown will play Eddy and Frye together, and it's a shame, the future (and present) rests in the their hands.

Curry isnt consistent but he has a low post game. He can dominate in the paint and Frye can shoot the 15 footers. That would be a very productive 4 & 5 combination for the Knicks.

But on defense, there would be problems. I think Larry might feel that they'd both get in immediate foul trouble playing together, so you put one hustle guy with them to help on D and the boards. I don't totally disagree at this stage in their development. One thing to me is Larry seems to be making reactive moves at this junction, like, "how are we gonna guard these guys?" I'd like to see him make some pro-active moves with the SL and make teams adjust to US. Let Trevor be the hustle guy, or if necessary Malik. Make teams figure out how to stop Frye AND Curry. Make up some plays where Curry passes to Frye and vice versa.

To me, the SL should clearly be:

Marbury
Crawford
Ariza
Frye
Curry

bench:
Nate
Q
Malik
Lee
Jackie

I'd start Malik over Ariza if you're gonna start Craw at the 2. Ariza is still a little bit away.

despite how well Frye is playing, no way does he start when Curry is back. Frye will still get his minutes, but he wont start.

why would he replace Curry? I see Frye as a PF that can slide to the 5 in certain line ups.

I would stay with the 3 guards:
Marbury
Craw
Q
Frye
Curry

It should be a guard oriented offense. Marbury and Crawford can get into the paint at will most nights. Let Q spot, and Curry/Frye feast off the space the guards create. Pretty much how you saw today.

The days of feeding the post should be over. Even in SA where they have Duncan the offense still goes through the guards.

he wouldnt replace Curry, its just that i'm sure LB will start AD with Curry when Curry returns(as LB has been doing since the beginning).
