I've heard columnists give teams like the Wizards a pass because they changed two players and they are "unfamiliar" with eachother as a result. Its completely obvious that the primary problem with this Knicks team is that no one has an idea what their role is. Larry should have come in and dictated roles to everyone on the club instead of having all of them proove it like this is some kind of try-out. He has everyone on the team minus Frye looking lost. He doesn't look like he's even close to making a call on who should do what. He's coaching like a complete a**. After every game he can't wait to tell the media how flawed his players are or how bad IT has made it for him with these players. I've never heard anything so crazy.

You can debate all of Isiah's moves all you want but the guy has never claimed to be even trying to assemble a roster, just aquiring talent up to this point. That he has done. The next step starts this season... they need to make decisions on who is going to be the core and build around them now instead of grabbing talent wherever it is available. Curry and Frye and Craw are going to be here for the long haul. Jackie, Lee, and Ariza are the guys we need to develop. Q needs to get a serious opportunity and that's it. I could care less who else plays, how much they complain or whatever. IT's moves for the next two years have to be all about getting the rest of the flack out of here and bringing in support players with short contracts. Marbury should come off the bench with the nonscorers and just be told his one and only job is to score. Bring in a three point bomber and a lock down defender and we'd be up to 4 seed level. Not great, but I'm confident IT will keep on finding gems in the draft and move up from there.

Dear IT, slap Larry and let him know who's boss. I'm tired of him crying like a girl after every game when its his moves, not yours that are costing us games.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

i think it's pretty clear to everyone that isiah assembled this team to run and play more uptempo. but this may just be a situation where the coach doesn't match the roster. remember before the whole lb thing came to light, it was westphal that was being interviewed by isiah and herb and it was the plan for westphal to coach the offense while herb did the defense. then of course, lb became available and the rest is history.

but i do agree that isiah needs to step in here and tell lb to STFU and just coach. lb's putting undue pressure on the players but constantly talking to the media - "i don't know what we got" "i don't know who can do what" "i'm lost" blah blah blah. lb's not helping the situation so he needs to keep quiet and just coach.

Because we have no idea what IT promised Larry when he hired him, we don't know which one of the two, if any, is the aggrieved party.

part of me says that they talked about the roster and they had a plan. and, again, i think they wanted to give steph one last shot, and once he said he wanted to play like iverson, he just signed his ticket out of town. i think he's being allowed to play the way he wants to now so he can get his #'s so we can trade him. don't be shocked if it happens. this has nothing to do with whether or not i think steph can work here. i think this is what's going on behind the scenes.

$$$ talks and Larry came for the bucks. That said, he should stop whining when he knew the deal. He's not young and Isiah isn't going to be anyone's puppet. Isiah may placate him for some minor deals (like a Brevin Knight or an Eric Snow or Earl Watson) but Larry won't bulldoze Isiah. It might come down to the same saga as with Detroit without the winning, Larry vs Isiah (Larry vs Dumars). And while Dolan loves Larry now, without the winning that could change in a hurry. This is NY.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

No doubt the bucks were a major factor, but again, you have no idea about what Isiah told him about having input on player personnel decisions.
