Lee sucks right now. He's been totally unable to finish around the basket when he gets the great pass. He's awfull in the halfcourt.
I would say Frye is the real deal and Curry remains a question mark. He's slow and fat right now and its keeping him off the court. It wouldnt be scary excpet the one big question mark about him is condition and fouls problems. So far not so good

Curry wasn't even cleared to play basketball or do strenuous aerobic workouts until about 6 weeks ago. What shape do you expect him to be in? The key thing for me is that his ceiling is unlimited AND he's playing with great effort on both ends of the court. His rebounding efficiency (prior to the calf injury) is by far the best he's ever had and he's blocking a lot of shots. It's gonna take a lot of time for him to get back in shape during the season. He may not even get in top shape until he has all of next offseason to work on his conditioning.

thats not true... not even close. he was cleared but the Bulls docs begining of the summer and he was working out with Tim Grover in the offseason. The only reason he didnt scrimage with the other guys was he didnt have a contract yet.

I don't see any young center (not sure about Mao yet) that can shut Curry down one on one. The only time he has been stopped is when team have sent several players at him. Unlike years past-pro player conditionning is a year round thing not a quick fix-it will take him time to reach peak physical condition. And it will be interesting with him and Channing and the inside out game they can play up front when Brown puts it together.

I remember before we traded for him, his agent said Curry was in GREAT shape. Nice job selling a guy who isn't in any shape at all. lol

Maybe you know more than I do about his offseason workouts. Exactly what aerobic workouts was he cleared to do and what workouts did he do with Tim Grover?

he was cleared to do everything including play. The only reason he didnt play with the other guys that Grover works out is because he didnt have a contract and couldnt risk injury.
Any other excuses while we are at it?

There's no need for any excuses. I was very happy with the 14/8/1.5 he was putting up before the calf injury. His rebounding and shot-blocking efficiency is improving very nicely.

maybe you picked him up for your fantasy team? Sure thats OK production. I was thinking more about how he cant stay on the floor because of foul trouble. How he's not quick because of the conditioning and how thats hurt the team on both sides of the floor.

I agree with you fish- curry for as long as he's been in the league, should be able to play more than 20 mins a night- both from a foul stand point and conditioning stand point. he's young- he should be able to go.
oliver miller anyone?

You're probably one of the very few posters who would find nothing positive from a 22 year old with a gifted body putting up 14/8/1.5 and playing with more intensity on defense and rebounding than he had previously. For most 22 year olds, you should just look for gradual improvement and appreciate the potential he's gradually realizing.

its all relative Bonnie. Unlike Ariza Curry didnt just fall in our laps. We gave up Sweetney (currently 13/9). We gave up 3 picks and have no lottery chance in the next 2 drafts.
I like Curry a lot. We havent played well with him on the floor. Thats a fact. We payed through the teeth to get him. Thats a fact. The one concern about getting him was work ethic and his weight (I had no reservations about his heart). So far those concerns are valid.
I guess I dont feel the need to sugar coat or refuse to look at a player's issues just because they are on my team.

one thing i don't understand...curry and craw played together in chicago. they're best friends. they know how to play together. lb...ummm, why don't you let craw run the point and feed it to curry? i mean if we're only going to go as far as curry will take us (long term), then shouldn't we have a guy that he's played with before and knows where to give him the ball?

How well did that experiment work in Chicago?
if you're going to ask me that, then answer me this, why the hell did we bring them here then?
Crawford because we gave up practically nothing and it was a nice gamble to get a then 24 year old with his upside. Did the gamble work out; it's too early to tell but I wouldn't be too optmisitic about Crawford ever being a good PG. Does that mean it was the wrong idea to give up a few tiny expiring contracts from useless players to get a young player with Jamal's upside? No, you can have the right idea and still have it not work out every time.
Why did we get Eddy Curry? I'm not sure you really need me to answer that, but he's a 22 year old with HUGE upside.
