Comparing Flip and LB is like night and day. Less structure, players play, coaches critique after the game. Good read. Hope our rookies can withstand the perfectionist.

We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

The arrival of new coach Flip Saunders proved favorable to Milicic already in the early preseason play. He was playing two full quarters per game and seemed to have established himself in the rotation. When asked to compare the two coaches now, he would speak the world of Saunders but would go no further than just stating the facts on the departing coach Larry Brown.
"It is much more relaxed, we have set plays like any other team but we are free to improvise if a better opportunity comes along. If you are free and think you can score, execute and do what you think is best. Play ball and enjoy yourself. If coach has any remarks, he will let you know after the game. I am now much more comfortable with my open jumper. With coach Saunders I have the freedom I never had with Brown."

Yeah, this looks like what happeed to our team in the beginning of the season. Too much structure. Against Charlotte it looked like not enough defense. Time will tell.

I have to wonder if Larry is the right fit for the personnel on this team.

Is the personel right for larry.

Remember, larry took the pistons twice to the finals without Darko.

Darko is a better player with having larry on his ass for two years.

Pistons win cuz they still play great defense. Good teams play good defense, great teams play great defense.

We are installing the defense first. So far its been getting better. Last nite we sucked, but its gonna happen.

Good for Darko, but lets be clear, Larry taught him fundamentals first and he is using it now. Darko has been out of school since he is 14 and playing ball. Not the sharpest crayon in the box!

Darko learned to play defense, and eventually Larry would have played him. Is he having more fun under FLip, sure! Good for him and this kid could very well become a more valuable commodity that Melo in the long run. Did larry make a mistake not playing him? No, Two trips to the finals and roster full of experienced big men that do the right thing.

Darko could not handle the perfectionist in Larry, and perhaps the language barrier did not help. Its hard for the young guys to distiguish what is harrasment and what is coaching!

Is he right for this roster? If anyone can determine after 10 games you better than most.

Probably not, but as a result of rebuilding on the fly the composition of the roster isn't particularly flexible.

watching the cle/indy game tonight showed me something. we are learning to play like indy. they run the same type of motion offense that gets the open guy the ball. they've been at it longer so it looks good with them. that's where we're trying to get to. which is a good thing b/c that style wins in the playoffs. cle is fool's gold. they are still 2 players away. they threw an OBSCENE amount of money at hughes and Z. now when it's 2007, and lebron leaves, they're stuck with hughes and Z.

Darko under the easy going Flip regime is averaging 8 mins-2pts 2 reb 2 fouls and a turnover. If he were doing that here in his 3rd year everone would be calling for ITs head for the lousy drafting
