Send them Antonio back.

We need a 3, they need another big. Both are expiring contracts. AD is only clogging up the rotation for Frye and Lee who have proved they can produce. Add to it that the team is better when those guys are on the floor, and worse w/ AD on it.

Also we have ZERO obligations to Fugazy. When he sucks sit him. We still have the expiring deal if needed at the deadline, and if we dont make a move we can let the $$ come off the books and just move on.

Look we all know he sucks but he can shoot and he's got size. God forbid he might even play hard being in the last year of his deal.

Worst case? It frees up about 25-30 minutes a night for Frye, Lee and Butler in the rotation.
Best case? He gives us 25 minutes a night, scores some in bunches and helps us win some games.

we could only do it in december I think. And then that means having him for 2 months if he is to be traded. If Zeke plans on trading AD, which I think he does, it doesn;t matter if its him or Tim, although obviously tim has more value as player.

we talked about this before. someone said there's a new CBA rule that a player can't be traded back to the same team for a full year. also, i don't think a player can be waived then re-sign with the team they were originally traded from for at least 30 days (the gary payton rule).

it makes sense basketball wise but even if we're legally able to do it, i don't know if we should as it may upset david stern and the nba as it looks like we were trying to circumvent the system on the eddy curry deal.

But not really, AD and TT make the roughly same money, it seems the deal could have been done with out them.

we had to include the big contracts so we could up the money we gave curry and still fall into the 125% rule. if it was just sweetney + jermaine + picks, we couldn't start curry at the dollar value we did.

sweets $$$'s + jermaine $$$'s = approximately $4.5 mil.
125% of 4.5 mil is $5.6 so that's all we could've offered eddy.
but since tim and ad were involved, that increases the pot tremendously...thus increasing the 125% value, thus giving curry a bigger starting dollar contract.

BTW, the curry deal is based heavily on incentives. he has to meet certain game criteria for each year to kick in at the team's discretion. the bulls actually offered him more GUARANTEED money than we did...all the more reason why we should thank isiah and craw for making curry want to come to ny.

I think one of our big guys gets traded for a point or a SF, but not gazy. I agree he is what we need, but lets find one that plays defense.

Should just kept KVH, but thats an old old story. Funny, we could use Spree-KVH-Gazy each at this time!

Yeah man, I am surprised people on this board are even entertaining the idea of bringing the Gazy back to town.

No way.

A year! This new CBA keeps getting worst and worst as far as I am concern. Yeah TT actually would fit in better on this team right now (waste of talent), he wouldn't have to be the second option anymore and anything he gives you is a plus. Briggs seems to be right on about Q, this guy has to be one of the biggest disappointments right now next to JJ.

You're kidding right. TT is terrible on and off the court.

I'd rather stick burning coals in my eyes then have Tim Thomas back on this team.

somebody needs to lay of the sauce. Cocaine is a helluva drug. He can't even get burn for Scott Skiles and da Bulls. Larry would bury him on the inactive list for the rest of the year
