Boozer To Wolves?
22nd November, 2005 - 8:20 pm
Sports Illustrated - According to Sports Illustrated's 'Truth And Rumor's section, the St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that the Timberwolves may talk trade with the Utah Jazz , with the discussions focusing on Minnesota big man Michael Olowonkandi and either Troy Hudson or Marko Jaric, and disappointing Utah forward Carlos Boozer.

'Don't be surprised if the Timberwolves talk trade with the Jazz, with Michael Olowokandi going to Utah for Carlos Boozer, and with either Troy Hudson or Marko Jaric of the Wolves as part of a deal,' the piece states.

The move, if it ever comes to fruition, would indictate the Jazz are giving up on the oft injured Boozer, whose bloated contract runs through 09/10. Olowonkandi would come off the books after this season while both Hudson and Jaric are signed to long term deals. [READ]

If they're just throwing him under the bus I'd take a long look at him.
He isn't what i'm looking for only because of his injuries. Otherwise, he is exactly what we need, a rebounding PF who can also score. He and Frye can split minutes at the PF.

I'd throw em Mo T and Malik Rose for him, althoug its probably not the salary dump their looking for.

I'd give em AD and Lee, they've got a young team.

Overall though, his money is crazy, especially for him to be hurt so much.

The Jazz must be really low on Boozer if they're willing to give up a 20/10 23 year old for Olowokandi and Hudson or Jaric.

more like 18 and 9, and he's injury prone (now), immature, and expensive.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Wow 19 and 9 must be so much worse then 20 and 10.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Yeah I'd leave him alone.....he might be faking the injury to get traded but regardless.....leave this guy alone.

If the Wolves actually do this deal and take back $25 to $30 mil to get Boozer, it doesn't bode well for the idea that they're in a salary dump mentality and would do the reported KG deals. They could be viewing Boozer as a (obviously inferior) replacement for KG, but they could get a much cheaper replacement.

The injury thing is over played. I'd take him on in spots and play Frye (assuming he stays) at the 3 and give any team we play just absolute hell! Pop into a zone defense to cover any quick 3 who may give him trouble, but we could kill teams.

But we need a shooting 3, and a point for now.

I'm not sure the injury issues are overplayed. He seems to sit out a very long time for minor injuries. I wonder if he just wanted to get paid and get paid as much as possible and then "coast" through his contract. If we're giving up very little (like contracts that expire *next* year), I'd trade for him. But otherwise I'd pass.

Booze is only 24 and maybe is too ripped. He has worked very hard to get bulked up and maybe his body is not adjusting well. KT had huge problems early on.

As far as coasting and just collecting his money, its possible. This kid has a good history of working hard on his game. This is not a TT whom has talent but not the work ethic, nor Big Lame who has those lapses.

Really, I don't think we need him here in any event.

In order for the Booze to get passed around his wife has to OK the deal. If it wasn't for her he would still be enjoying life in Cleveland. There is no reason for us to take on that inflated contract and the second coming of the Christie's.
