Still early-don't want to overhype, jinx or jump the gun but he is starting to look like the real thing and maybe more.

Not saying he doesn't, but what makes you think a 4-year college player has "lots of upside"?

Sounds like wishful thinking on your part.

And if we don't make the playoffs, forget about it...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I think Frye will be in the running, but Chris Paul looks like the early favorite.

Channing is definitely showing that he can be the real deal.

However, IMO it's WAY too early to jump the gun talking ROY.
Can we let him get a few more 20-pt. games in first?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

This post makes no type of sense. Forget the fact that before the mid ninties most players were 4 year players, are you telling me that Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Dennis Rodman, Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullin, Larry Bird or the players now in the Hall of Fame or the all-star players from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s stayed at the same level from college to the pros are got worst by your definition. I remember you saying that you were still in your teens so it is understandable but yeah the NBA has been around for more than 50 years and believe it or not, 4 year players got better in the pros.

Chum, listen:

Those players were STARS at their respective programs.

Channing was a top-tier role player at Zona.

I like how he's playing. Pleasantly surprised. But most 3-4 year grad players playing in the league today don't have very high ceilings past their college career.

And don't lecture me on any past players mmplayyze.

Dennis Rodman wasn't a star. Plenty of other players became stars in the NBA after playing 4 years.

He has a chance, keep in mind, Curry still needs to get his. That could hamper his stat opportunities.

One thing for sure, his game results in wins. He plays well, knicks win.

That's extremely encouraging.

Maybe a limited Curry early in the season isn't that bad of a thing after all.

He'll be ready to take over when Channing hits the rookie wall and Eddy is in mid season form.

Like I said, most 3-4 college grads TODAY don't have very high ceilings.

The 80's was a unique era in that it was period in which more than half of the NBA's Top 50 were drafted...

He has lots of upside cause he's a more accurate shooter and a more sure handed rebounder than we're already seeing. And his willingness to accept coaching, and work hard on d means he's only gonna get better.

At the moment 1/10 of the season gone-Frye, Bogut, CV and Paul look like the early favorites. On a side note-even 4 year college players may still be physically deveoping and will progress beause they are fully immersed in bb. Is there anyone who thinks ROY Duncan didn't get better? Was Clyde the complete player in his Roodkie of the year. To make a statement like that Bobs shows you are very young but, on the other hand you may develope.

I hope Bobs is being sarcastic. The examples of four year players and their upside are infinite in the history of our league, recent or not. As for Channing and ROY, it's definitely not too early to consider his name in the mix, but he will need to get more minutes from LB. I am a HUGE FryeFan so I am biased, but his upside is HUGE. If you don't see that you are not watching the games.
Love this game...

The only thing we know for sure is, time will tell. There were some who complained about this pick, but I don't hear them complaining now. Frye has silenced his critics -he's already proved that he's better and tougher than many thought. As to whether he will acheive greatness - only time will tell.
