I'd love for it to be our next game because he's so much better than any other PF we have, but I'm wondering if it won't be until Rose, AD, and Taylor are off the team or Frye is a 5-year veteran!

Frye and Lee need to start every game. AD and Rose are two of the worst fowards in the league. Veteran status means nothing if you stink. I am losing respect for Larry by the day.

Start Frye and Lee until they hit the "rookie wall" in the second half of the season? Or do we let them continue to come off the bench and get significant minutes in crunch time?

I think any possible downside of a rookie wall would be mitigated by the likelihood of accelerated development. If Rose and/or Davis were decent, I might agree, but they are awful, as is Taylor.

The most critical issue is minutes. They need to play as long as they can stay out of foul trouble.

He needs to start him against Portland. And Portland needs to leave town with some of our old guys.

Maybe having our best players start the third quarter would help that out!
Frye and Lee need to start every game.
Unless you're taking Curry out of the starting lineup, you'd have to start Lee at SF. I don't think that would be putting him in a role where he's likely to thrive. I'd start Ariza at SF and make Lee the first frontcourt player off the bench (with Frye and Curry starting at PF/C).

The problem witb the 3rd quarter is that he starts the starters who have sucked as a unit, and doesn't replace them till we are way down.

The best chance they have to win right now is to start Frye and Lee at the forwards. They know where to go on the floor, play D and will pass.

I think Lee can handle the 3 better than Q or Ariza.

Rich, so do I, and I think having him in there with Frye and Marbury would give Brown the ball movement he envisions.

I dont like Lee at the 3. He needs to be around the basket. He is a natural 4. Don't like seeing him handle/dribbling the ball around the perimeter. I could understand wanting to have him on the court and finding a place for him at the 3 as that is our weekest postion as of now... But i dont see him as a 3.
What happened to Travis Knight? What a waste!

Then you haven't pay much attention. He gets killed by quick 3's. Carmelo went pass Lee like he had cement shoes on.

Then you haven't either. So does Rose, Q, and to a lesser extent Ariza, yet unlike them, he actually brings something to the table: rebounding, passing, and smart, opportunistic play, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the high probability that he will get better.

I'm with Pharezone here. Ariza does not get burned on D like Lee does by 3s and he's a good enough rebounder and passer and has a high enough probability of improving to be the starter at the 3. I think Lee would be a better C than SF actually although PF is obviously the best position for him.

Who cares who starts. He is getting his minutes and producing nicely. Leave it alone.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Ariza has a low basketball IQ.

Channing Frye has maybe been the most consistent rookie so far this season. He had his best game on Sunday, scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting in just 19 minutes of action, leading the Knicks to their first win. It was the first time a rookie has led the Knicks in scoring since Hubert Davis did it in February of 1993. Frye did it down low and also showed nice range from 17-feet out. Larry Brown has no choice but to give this kid major burn.
