Okay after watching the first 8 games here is my outlook on the players.

1.Jerome James- If he would eat Penny, Malik, Mo, and even Matt Barnes and get traded I will be a happy man

2. Eddie Curry- Great offensive player, and once LB get him to work as hard on the defensive end, he will be a great players for year for the Knicks
3. Channing Frye- Only a rookie but this kid has the potential to be an all star. great skills, and will be one of the best players in the draft. Need to stay out of foul trouble.
4. Trevor Ariza- Most overrated guy on the team, skill set is low but is a great athlete, and plays hard
5. David Lee- Can't shoot yet but is best rebounder on the team. Needs to learn the three to get more time.
6. Steph Marbury- Not a great defensive player and really is out of sync right now. Great talent just dont know if he can co exist with LB
7. Jamal Crawford- Coachable kid that will be fine in the end needs to gain strength and make better decisions.
8. Nate Robinson- Another kid I think will have trouble he is a 2 guard in a 5th grade body., Love the way he competes but decision making is not good.
9. Q Richardson- Just dont think he will be a great plyaer in LB system. One dimensional and thinks the three point line is an electric fence and he cant go inside it.

Play the young kids, and if Marbury and Crawford gets better this team will show great improvement over the year.

Disagree about Ariza. He is one of our best offensive rebounders and perimeter defenders. While not averaging many ppg, he doesn't need any plays called for him to score. His skill set isn't that high, you are correct, but every team needs role players like him and Lee in order to win.

Crawford looks like a completely different player. I'm starting to like what I see.

Curry finally showed different moves and was successful with that. I liked that.

Robinson looks like he can get in the paint at will. He just needs to learn what to do when he beats his man. But recently, his decisions are much better.

And finally Steph...no comment

Agree pretty well right down the line.

none of you guys could have been watching the games and make a comment like that about Stephs defense.

Damn Nets fans!

Yeah, no doubt...if you were watching the games, you'd see he is playing defense.

Why else would LB consider putting him on Kobe?

This is my take on the team thus far if anybody is interested:

Jerome James-What is he even doing here. If Isiah can get Earl Watson for him I will feel much better about our team.

Eddy Curry- He's starting to get his act together. Needs to get into A1 shape and learn to be aggresive on the defensive end every night. Got killed by Mihm last game which is inexcusable.

Channing Frye- In my humble opinon he's better than Bogut. His jumper is pretty like ricky. The sky is the limit for this dude.

Trevor Ariza- My main man Trev needs to continue hitting the weights and work on his ball handling. See pic below

David Lee- Most of the dudes picked before him are not as good as this guy. He rebounds the ball so well that it's becoming scary to imagine how good he will be. And his passes are great too

Stephon Marbury- needs to relax and play the game. This is basketball not rocket science stop thinking so hard and get into the flow. That's the only way this team will win

Jamal Crawford- has started to improve all areas of his game. Good thing Larry came when he did this guy has a lot to prove.

Nate the Great- Needs to stay away from energy drinks and learn the point guard position. With his speed he should be able to become a clone of TJ Ford. Just pass the ball after you beat your man

Q-Rich- the biggest dissapointment to me at this time. I don't know if his hamsting is hurt or if it's his back or maybe his heart from leaving Brandy. But whatever it is he needs to shake it off quick.

AD and Malik- These two might look sucky on the court, but behind the scenes I think they are really helping our young big guys understand how to play in the NBA.

MoT and Penny- they haven't been on the court long enough

Matt Barnes- Big heart, good athelete and a good teammate, but I don't know if he'll be playing in the NBA that long without a decent jumper.

New York fans are funny. All new players are superstars. Then after a few weeks when we've seen that they aren't Michael Jordan we turn on them. My guess is that when Channing Frye and David Lee haven't produced titles by year 3 we will be bashing them ala Patrick Ewing

I dont think frye is better than bogut becuase he cant rebound as well, also david lee used a mid range jump shot twice yesterday and made both! i was very suprised, I guess hes been working on that move.

I'm not saying you will do this booman, I'm saying this is what NY fans in general do. We love our guys until we figure out they are flawed and then we tear them apart.

ewing, my favorite player of all time, was not shielded from critics as well. he was judged pretty harshly and the criticisms were eventually the reason he left.

it's a tough town fueled by tough fans and a tough media to satiate the tough fans. it's a vicious cycle. but it's new york.

all we want are winners. very few players are exempt if they don't win.

mattingly is one. starks is another. yet both players were flawed, mattingly after the back problems, and starks just not being good enough on the floor.

And I think this is one of the reasons we've gone over 30 years without a title.
