what if the knicks are the team getting cap relief?

e.g. Marbury = Baron Davis
all kool aid all the time.

thats not cap relief. Your still in the luxury tax and it doesnt free up cap space. That does nothing.

again...it's a superstar...that hasn't been able to stay healthy.

so there's a red flag with ANY superstar you get back like this. but i agree with this in principle. we have to stop taking sh t back even when we are giving HUGE financial relief.

while its true that trading marbury alone wont nearly be enough to put the knicks under the salary cap I still think it should be done at some point. becuase I dont think the knicks will be a truely great franchise unless they start spending more wisely (ala san antonio, detroit, pheonix, miami, and pretty much every other championship contender). even if it has to be done one, talent sacrificing, step at a time I still think the knicks should make strides to eventually get under the cap.

I think I did twice, once beore the season and once after the season started, when Marbury's name popped up. In all fairness, Jalen Rose has been dreadful, so as in any fluid market, a person can change his opinion based on performance--thats what business is.

I don't want Jalen Rose but I know damn well that you've been begging and pleading to get him on the team the last year if not more. So now that Jalen has had a rough 7 or 8 games, you've backed off your request and not only backed off it, you are going to say anyone that wants him now is crazy? Cmon Briggs, lets have a little balance here, I'm really not trying to be a dck but the fact is you've been all over this guy for awhile now.

Jalen is in a funk and there is no doubt about that but, getting 7 minutes one game and then playing right after one of your close friends have passed is hard. Have you even seen his picture it dosen't look like he's even worried about his hygiene so I can imagine that he isn't too focused on basketball right now. I feel a change of scenery would be good for him and then we wouldn't have to worry about back up point guards, shooting guards and small forwards because he can play all three positions. Why not trade for him and get rid of Hardaway who is just rotting away on the inactive list?

I'm just happy you learned how to quote properly, so I'm not gonna get on your case about Jalen, I wanted him too as recent as about 2 weeks ago, which is why I remembered.

I was not so much responding to you changing your mind as much as I was responding to you saying it was so crazy.

I don't think its crazy, maybe not the best move, but it does have its merits.

no no no...I was saying, what if the knicks dumped marbury off for expiring contracts and let all them expire this year.

We'd have AD, Marbs and Penny all coming off.

Would that be allowed?

Be New Orleans in the Marbury deal.

hence, Marbury = Davis. not saying we should trade for davis.
all kool aid all the time.
