Hi Folks,

I had such an outpouring of support for my surgery false alarm last month, that I would like to thank you all again. I'm going in to have it done now. Talk to you guys later this evening.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Take Bromelain...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Hi Fellas, I didn't think you all wanted the gory details!

The doctor said it was a success. But I ain't gonna lie, it was rough. I was sick as a dog on Saturday, I almost had to go back to the hospital. I am much better now. I have started therapy already. The pain has been absolutely excruciating. No pain no gain I guess! And I have 8 weeks on crutches, quite a drag.

I've been in bed since the operation and all looped out on vicodin, that's why I can't post with the same vigor you all are used to.

We'll know in maybe a year if Allan Houston should have had a similar surgery: If I am playing for the Knicks next year, he shoulda dunitt.

See you guys in the Knicks forum!

weird that there is so much pain, but maybe that's par for the course. I had ACL replacement and I don't remember too much pain afterwards. Maybe my drugs were that good!

Good luck in rehab!

I've had a microfracture, 3 arthroscopies (One on the right knee.), and then this operation: a meniscus transplant. The microfracture was very painful, but this one is more painful by far. At the hospital, they said a meniscus transplant is one of the more painful knee surgeries, it involved drilling in the bone, removal of the entire lateral meniscus, sewing in a new meniscus, and some type of attaching using staples or nails. Also two incisions besides the normal two arthroscopic holes.

And it is as painful as it sounds, because after all my other surgeries, Vicodin, Hydrocodone, etc. blocked out virtually all the pain except for mishaps, like bumping it. This is a whole new ballgame!

Good luck in rehab!

Thanks, I am rehabbing as I post!

mmmm... staples. Those are fun. 25? Thats good! I think I only had about 15-20. The best was the tube in the knee that let bloody pussey fluid drip out into a bag. Mrs. fish found that to be a big turn on.

Good luck. Dont push it... even if you feel good you should give connective tissue a year to heal.

Oohah, I hope everything is going great for you. Just don't hire an olympic high jumping champ to direct your rehab.

I didn't have the pleasure of a puss-hose, but my knee resembling a shrunken head was nice.

Good luck. Dont push it... even if you feel good you should give connective tissue a year to heal.

I know that will be the hardest part.

Thanks Allanfan, and being that I am an allanfan as well, you know I ain't hirin' no olympic jumpers!
