Lee and Frye can switch back and forth from 3-4--each has skills that can be applied to each position. The more I watched Frye, the more I realized he can play some three at times. If he can learn to dribble drive like a Robert Horry--and I think he can do a little now for sure--than he could be one heckuva weapon and hard to match up with for smaller players.

I like that lineup. On defense we go zone.

Frye did spend some time playing D on Odom....and he didn't do too badly. Against certain 3's Frye could play.

I also liked how Butler played last night. He played sound defnese and boxed out. The guy is a definite road grader. No ups similar to Oakley.

not 2 minutes ago, i suggested the same thing to a friend of mine.

lee and frye can make up for each other on the defensive end so if they get caught in a switch, we won't get burned as they can guard both spots. lee is more fundamentally sound than ariza. he's bigger than rose. and if we're not running plays for Q, then i'd much rather have lee crashing the offensive boards and just disrupting stuff.

This is what I've been saying since preseason. Lee can't shoot, but he's got ALL the other fundamentals. He's our best option at the 3 right now.

And for the first time in a long time we'll actually have the height advantage on the front line!

i asked the question on another post several days ago why wont larry go with curry and frye for an extended period of time... i think we'll see alot more of it as they are clearly our two best nig man. what is even scarier is that they are both the same age... and i agree lee should continue to see more minutes on the floor at the 3 and 4.
What happened to Travis Knight? What a waste!

No, Lee should not play more than 20 minutes. Channing at the three??? Lee at the three??? Lee can play sometimes at the three in order to guard some people, but Lee is not a SF nor starting material.

I watched against the Nets in preseason, and I watched against Sacramento. I also saw a pair of games from Lee when he was at Florida. I know I haven't seen a whole lot, but I don't think Lee is a starter right now.

Lee can play the SF. He's more mobile than Tim Thomas or Charles Smith ever were. If there's a matchup problem, Ariza can come in.

I would like this lineup.

Lee has been ridiculously effective this year. He's getting like 6.4 boards in less than 14 mins of play. He's clearly ready to be out there, and IMO he played pretty well at the 3 yesterday. IMO, he has to be in the rotation. Lee, Frye and Butler are making the case that they are already significantly better players than Rose, Davis, James...not just players with more potential.

I like that line-up. Jackie Butler should be the first big off the bench if we start that group.

Lee can play SF only when the other team's SF is very slow or is unmotivated like Lamar appeared last night.

That line-up with Marbury/Craw/Q at the guards would be best. Lee is not only a rebounding machine, but he's gonna really pile up the assists, too. Once Lee and Frye find their comfort level, look out.
