The one thing I am guessing they have told Curry and maybe some of the other young guys is this: Concentrate on defending and rebounding. How to double, how to rotate, how to play the pick and pop and screen/roll. Only perform the most simple of offensive sets and your fav move or 2. They will implement more on the offensive end when the defense is instinctive.
That's a great observation. That's probably what they were doing. In Jermaine O'Neal's first year in Indiana, his offense wasn't that good, but his defense, rebounding, and shot-blocking were outstanding. Later they worked on polishing his offensive game.
