Atlanta for Josh Smith.

The Hawks need bigs. Mo T isnt exaclty a prize but if you give him minutes he will do some things. We just have too many players and this would give us another guy to matchup with the atlhletic 3's around the league. He's very raw but having him and Ariza gives you 2 guys that can really fly around, hit the boards and blocks some shots as well. It gives you a better balance as a team IMO

I believe the Hawks are still far enough under the cap to take Mo's deal.

rose is playing better, Lee is still a young gun, if this were fantasy basketball keeper league and there was a cash prize for first place 3-5 years from now, I'd take it.

maybe with another coach, but with Brown you need hustle guys who play with smart, and I think David Lee is that kind of player. Don't know much about Smith, but he wouldbe another Nate Robinson or Crawford project for the Coaching staff.

After this year AD is gone and MoT has 1 more year left, and surprisingly the Knicks start to become thin at the PF stop. Granted Frye will fill those minutes, but you stick it out to see if Lee can get an outside shot to go with his fundamentals. I'd always rather have a guy with solid fundamentals than crazy athletisism.

Josh smith is fine but he is also lacking in a lot of areas.

I would like to pick up a player that is the opposite of ariza. Meaning someone who has good skill offensively and solid everywhere else. A guy like jalen rose works or Patterson cuz neither lock you down with tons of years.

with brown's system, do you really think we will bring in a new starter? I think IMHO that the team is getting better and better. If the curve continues upward, we won't have to catch teams with injuries, but we will simply be better than them.

We have the depth to contend with back to back games (huge problem last year) and we have a system that can grind it out or run and gun.

If we don't bring somebody in that does or has not played in a similar system, they will end up riding the pine and not contributing until next year.

I'd rather go with players that have tremendous upside IN this system.

Not just tremendous upside.

At this point, I'm only looking to trade marginal players (the touchables) for cap relievf and picks.

i've watched josh smith play this year and it's light years different from last season.
he's jacking up these shots with no rhyme or reason. why? b/c of joe johnson, al harrington, marvin williams, and chill. he's just going for his. right now he's a shot blocker and a dunker. he'd be good for us off the bench. i'd make this deal but he's also just a little piece for us. we still need a more solid starter at the SF spot.

I was at the hawks game last week, and smith was brutal, he was shooting as if he were michael redd, it was really ugly, he needs to stick to what he does best now, and that is rebounding and shot blocking, I agree..

What makes you think that the Hawks will even entertain that kind of offer?. I would think they are happy with who they have since they will be targetting Ben Wallace in the offseason. Why trade Lee, isn't he supposed to be our answer to KT?, I would rather have Lee than Rose anyday of the week, Lee is gonna be a good player for the Knicks, let's just leave the trades to people who get paid for those kind of decisions.

Besides this roster will thin itself out, when the season progresses we will see more of the kids by January.

I don't know what people see in Josh Smith. I don't know how people think he's going to be a star. I followed this guy pretty closely last year since he was on my fantasy team and the guy cannot shoot if his life depended on it. He goes for the block on every shot and jumps really high and dunks. He can't shoot and he's not slasher. He plays the like a big man except he's a 6-9 tweener. He is not that much different than Ariza. No way would I also give up Lee

exactly, go back to last years post, I said the same thing and got the business from Briggs and some others, guys like to overrate other teams players to the 10th degree, I see josh play all the time, and you hit the nail on the head, if it isn't josh smith, it is mikeal Peitrus, both good athletes, both scrub players, skill wise. I think Josh has more to offer in that he can block shots...

The thing with Piertus is he's a lockdown perimeter defender. Like Shandon except much more athletic and can have big games every now and then. He is a lot like Ariza and Josh but he's the best perimeter defender of the 3 by far if you watch him play. We don't need him as much this year with the perimeter defense we're playing, we need could use a shooter. Actually it would be nice to have a Piertus to throw out there to guard Kobe tomorrow . Crawford has the potential to be that reliable high percentage shooter we need

I wouldn't call either pietrus or shandon lock down defenders, they are far from that, but they can defend pretty well. I would stick ariza and barnes on Kobe, you would probably get the same effect as if you were to use pietrus, if kobe is determined, none of them can stop him anyway..

He's also a nightmare for his coaching staff.. hard headed and disrespectful. He's a nightmare to coach. I'll take Lee and Butler and good team play.

no thanks....Ariza's just as good.

Smith way overrated.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'm sorry, but Josh Smith avg 10 points 6 rebounds 2 blocks 2 assits
shooting 46% at the ripe old age of 19 in the NBA. I don't like that he put on 15 pds of muscle, i like him at 6-9 225 and *3* and they seem to want to push him at *4* this year as a back up. If David Lee put up those numbers now, we d be celebrating--its not that we have a tendency to over-rate others, its that Knick fans over-rate their own guys. david Lee has done SQUAT in the NBA so far and hes 3 years older than Josh. when David Lee starts blocking 10 shots in a game, winning dunk contetsts putting up games of 20+ and 10+, we can start talking about what lee can do. By the way, no disrespect to fishmike, but what the F would atl take on Mo taylors rediculius contract and take David Lee for a guy that clearly is superior at this point and 3 years younger? Josh smith has the kind of athletsicm you see like every 10 years from a guy his size. now i am not privvy to his actions off the court, of course thats always a huge piece of the puzzle. would i trade david lee for josh smith? well, so would 98% of the nBA.
RIP Crushalot😞
