coming into the season, the biggest thing i wanted to see from craw was improved fg% and that's what we're getting:

FG 3PT
@bos - 2-5 0-1
was - 1-5 0-1
@por - 6-10 0-1
@gsw - 7-15 1-4
@sac - 6-12 2-2

so if you take away those first two games where he was unexpectadly benched and adjusting to it, he's been 19-37 from the field and 3-7 from three point land. this guy was averaging 7 3PTA's a game last year. his mid range jumper is starting to fall with consistency AND IN THE CLUTCH. lb is literally taking this raw piece of clay and molding him into a better player.

defensively, his full court pressure on the ball handler has gotten better as his positioning looks right. but he still falls into some lapses where he's getting beat on back cuts and loosing him man cutting to the basket. and he's jumping up to the side of the jump shooter instead of in front of him but i am very encouraged as i see some real growth from last season. he's really got only 1 or 2 more basketball years on frye b/c of his lack of college and rotation of head coaches.

Yes, Craw is starting to look like an NBA basketball player now. He along with Frye are my favorite players. I killed him all of last season for just jacking up 3s, but he showed a lot of promise as well. Maybe he truely is a "Combo guard" b/c he's playing a lot more comfortable at the point, and his shot selection is definitely improved. And it's not like Larry put the shackles on him. He's still taking shots, but they are so much more high quality mid range Js, floaters and layups. He takes 1 or 2 bad shots a game, but notice they are from much closer in, so they still have a better shot at going in. Most of his 3s are open. His decision making has been better as well.

His defense still needs a lot of work though. He gets lost in screens completely. Maybe this is why he needs to add some muscle, but overall, I enjoy the progress. He's a part of our future.

the most telling play from crawford this entire season was in golden state when he had a WIDE OPEN three point shot, thought about, didn't take it, took a dribble, came in and took a mid range jumper and nailed it.

Last night Jamal was doing his Rip Hamilton imitation pretty well. He executed the curl play for mid-range shot to perfection. He did this in the 4th quarter which was awesome. If he starts using his skills correctly, watch out!

Craw has been impressive since he got over the shock of being benched. I still think his role should be a SG with this team. I think Larry can mold him into something very similar to Hamilton.

I've been saying since the day Larry signed on that I thought Marbury and Crawford could approximate a Billups/Hamilton backcourt with the right coaching. I hope Larry is patient with them and makes them into something great. I think Marbury can be better than Billups once he remakes his game and Craw can be close to Rip.

I like Crawford off the bench for several reasons

1. He'll be the undisputed leader of the bench brigade
2. Coming off the bench has gotten his attention (43% field goal per)
3. Nate can't handle the point positon yet. Let Nate pressure their point guards all the way down court on defense and let Crawford play playmaker on the other end.

My top three favorite players on the team is: Frye, Robinson and Steph. Craw is showing that he can become better defensively and offensively as well.

Not to be too harsh - but if you take away the games when I shoot badly I'm a hell of a high % shooter too.

yeah, but that would leave a sample size of what? maybe 1 or 2 games

he was in a funk during the boston game b/c he found out in shootaround he wasn't starting when all signs said he was. then he was still out of it for the 2nd game off the bench. then isiah and lb talked to him and he started the 3rd game and he's been pretty solid ever since.

As far as me - yeah that's about right. As far as craw - your sample size is 4. I hope your right but I've seen who string together a few good games before - we can discuss this again at the end of January.

It was obvious Craw was responding to LB's coaching in the preseason. The first couple of games were shaky, perhaps b/c of the shock of not starting, but he has really come on recently. He is not afraid of the big shot, and actually a pretty exceptional shooter when set and open (as opposed to off the dribble and off balance). I like his agressiveness in taking it to the basket lately too.

Crawford pulled off another impressive game by leading the team in scoring and his fourth quarter shooting. If he keeps this up we'll have to change his name from Crawawful to Crawesome.

It's great to see the guy go to the basket instead of only relying on pull-ups off the dribble.

He will always be Crawfish in my eyes. He played a real good game yesterday and his defense is getting more and more solid. But then again, he didn't really go up against anyone that good last night. However, his shot selection was real good, he's still passing better, and he only took a couple of bad shots last night, which is fine, b/c everyone takes bad shots once in a blue moon. All of his 3 pointers, however, were open.

I think the guy is starting to take a page out of Allan Houstons book, b/c he really is taking advantage of the mid range J a lot more.

um...so you just gonna take away all my warm fuzzy feelings from last night's win to explain that we played some scrubs last night. Utah had some hurt players, but who has pity for our team when people get hurt. Who cared that Allan Houston had to sit out the whole season for two years? Not ESPN or anyone in the New York media so I don't care if they come in with just 8 players a win is a win.

Crawford did good last night, let's just leave it at that

I hardly took anything away from him. Look at just about all my other posts for the day. He and Frye are my favorite players, and when he was struggling and people were saying "Trade this bum/bastard" I was rooting harder and harder for him.

Amen brother. I don't want to hear one person say we won because Utah had players out. That would be very hypocritical. Plus we were playing without Penny and Big Game James
