Everyone seems to be saying the same thing about Craw being the PG vs Steph and how fluid the offense runs with Craw at PG. This is not totally untrue, but is not completely accurate either.

In the first half against GW (which I watched again just now) our offense flowed smoothly because of several factors, not what others would have you believe about Craw atthe 1 and Marb at the 2:

-Craw and Steph split PG duties about 50/50 in the first half of the game.

-Some of Stephs points came with him as the SG coming off screens, while others came with him as the PG creating his own shot, or taking what the defense gave him.

-Some of Stephs shots + points came with him as the SG .

-Some of Craws points came with him as the SG, as a result of ball movement or coming off screens.

-Both Steph and Craw pushed the ball up swiftly and got plays started early in the shot clock for the most part.

-Both guys at the pg got others going and gave guys good shot oppurtunities.

-There were plays were Steph pushed the ball way fast up court, and recieved it back after the ball swung around and he was the trailer. It was a beautiful thing to watch. Thats what LB wants as for as ball movement. Crawford did this as well.

-The backdoor pass that Eddy Curry got and slammed was the result of Steph reading the defense and reacting, and was not the intention of that play. When Craw did this one time with Ariza everyone was soooooo excited and that was alleged proof that he should be the PG. I just thought everyone ought to make a note of this one too.

-Penny was the PG more than Craw, when he and Craw were in the game together, and did a decent job of setting up our offense, although Craw was solid as the PG when Penny was in as well.

The purpose of this post is to point out that our offense didn't just run smoothly in the first half because Craw was te point, it ran smoothly because Steph and Craw BOTH did these things as PGs:

-got the ball moving early in the shot clock.
-were able to shoot when they wanted to.
-didn't have to force the first 5 plays down to Eddy Curry.
-didn't have to absolutely force any set play and make sure that 'x' person gets the shot designed in 'x' play.
-pushed the ball up court whenever possible, running and creating fast break oppurtunities, or secondary break oppurtunities.
-our team moved the rock well and guys got good shots off.
-when we did run plays we ran them well.

I think our team plays better when they share pg duties. They both need time at the PG and SG. They need time to make plays and they need time to take shots.

The backdoor pass to Curry was thing of Beauty, that shoudl ahppen mpre often between Steph or Crawford to Curry of any of our other big men along with the drive and dish for the easy basket.

But also Curry has to learn how to pass out of a double team or when he gets the ball too high in the post instead of forcing the ball up to the hoop, he has to kick it out and get better position to recieve the next pass.

Curry did seem to be passing alot more against GS, i think he is improving in that area. He usually is a black hole and always forces te shot.
