Dyess could have never been the savior we needed him to be. He had no pressure in Detroit and a small, easy role to fill. He still has talent, just not all the physical tools to carry the load for 40minutes a night.
For one thing Dice was never supposed to be the savior, the media and the fans expected way too much out of someone who was still overcoming a bad injury, he was far from being 100%, so don't go puttung him down for being in a position he never wanted to be in the first place, A SAVIOR!.
He is a good person and talented basketball player, I actually had a chance to talk with him before he was traded to the Knicks, His team was in LA playing the Clippers' when he was shooting before the game, I got to talk with him for a bit and I did ask him if he would play to the Knicks, He said He wouldn't mind it at all, but first he wanted to get better and to play later that season. He didn't get to play, but during the Summer he was traded to NY, I was happy for him, but Layden and the media put way to much pressure on him to come back and play to Save the Knicks, He is not that kind of person, He only wanted to play and contribute to a team's success, not be the MAN, but just to be apart of the team.
YOu folks who put him down no nothing about him or the situation he was put in, you only see that he didn't do what wrongfully expected of him while he was in NY, It wasn't fair to him and it is ignorant of anyone, who thinks he failed while he was here. He would've been okay here if everyone was more patient of him and his situation, but that is way too much to ask from any NY Sport fan or anyone from NY to understand becuase Patience is not one of your best virtue's, just ask LB!.
I for one am glad Dice got out of NY, he never deserved the treatment he got from the media and alot of the fans, and still gets it from some ignorant people today!.
