Marcus Camby
15pts 12rbs 3.4blks shooting at 62%...

Can anyone tell me what we got out of that Marcus&Nene/Dyess trade?

Just fantasizing... it's a form of therapy.

basically nothing.. and do you what really pisses me off, the fact that he gets miraculously healed when we traded him and wins a championship with detroit, oh well at least frank williams is doing badly, I heard that he is badly out of shape and not in the nba anymore.

He was healed in Detroit, but he was a bench player for them, nothing to get excitied about. He was never what we needed after he had that surgery

Dyess could have never been the savior we needed him to be. He had no pressure in Detroit and a small, easy role to fill. He still has talent, just not all the physical tools to carry the load for 40minutes a night.

For one thing Dice was never supposed to be the savior, the media and the fans expected way too much out of someone who was still overcoming a bad injury, he was far from being 100%, so don't go puttung him down for being in a position he never wanted to be in the first place, A SAVIOR!.
He is a good person and talented basketball player, I actually had a chance to talk with him before he was traded to the Knicks, His team was in LA playing the Clippers' when he was shooting before the game, I got to talk with him for a bit and I did ask him if he would play to the Knicks, He said He wouldn't mind it at all, but first he wanted to get better and to play later that season. He didn't get to play, but during the Summer he was traded to NY, I was happy for him, but Layden and the media put way to much pressure on him to come back and play to Save the Knicks, He is not that kind of person, He only wanted to play and contribute to a team's success, not be the MAN, but just to be apart of the team.
YOu folks who put him down no nothing about him or the situation he was put in, you only see that he didn't do what wrongfully expected of him while he was in NY, It wasn't fair to him and it is ignorant of anyone, who thinks he failed while he was here. He would've been okay here if everyone was more patient of him and his situation, but that is way too much to ask from any NY Sport fan or anyone from NY to understand becuase Patience is not one of your best virtue's, just ask LB!.

I for one am glad Dice got out of NY, he never deserved the treatment he got from the media and alot of the fans, and still gets it from some ignorant people today!.

I know. I remember you being very high on Amare prior to that draft when no one really knew or cared about him.

In the next draft, we could've drafted Wade, then Iguodala, followed by Granger.

Now, that's a championship team!

But Camby probably would have continued playing 29 games per season as a Knick!

yup. that was the major beef with Camby. He was injury prone for the Knicks. He was healthy in his contract year and the year after but he missed too many games after that. I was kinda OK with the Dice trade but I would much rather have Camby + Nene than Dice which led to Stephon.

Layden screwed up in that draft, we could've gotten Amare instead of picking Nene and trading him, Dice or no Dice, We should have picked Amare and kept him, instead of doing that silly trade.

Management didn't want to get a high schooler... They wanted an immediate impact player to play alongside Spree and H20..

That's awful restricted thinking by Layden et al then. Even from year 1, Amare was more of an immediate impact than Dice (or any other player drafted that year).

Well that goes to show you why that so-called Management is around any more, they screwed up, Amare was an impact player from day one!.
