Notes from Practice - Nov 10, 2005

SAN FRANCISCO, November 10, 2005 -- The Knicks traveled on to San Francisco following their disappointing loss in Portland on Wednesday, and had another spirited practice in the War Memorial Gymnasium at the University of San Francisco. Head coach Larry Brown spent a good part of the two and a half hour session reviewing game tape and talking to the team about the system they have put in, which has yet to produce a win to start the season. Despite the 0-4 mark, Brown remained encouraged.

"We had a really good practice today with an extensive film session. It remains clear to me that our guys are trying and they care. It's not their fault - I blame myself," Brown said. "I'm planning on simplifying our game plan a little and seeing if those little adjustments make the difference." Brown also remained steadfast in his support of Stephon Marbury. "I've always had great relationships with my guards and still talk to them (Chauncey Billups, Eric Snow, etc.). Stephon has never shown that he won't try. I talks to Isiah [Thomas] everyday how this is a work in progress, but neither of us are discouraged."

Marbury was also resolute in his feelings. "I knew this was going to take time - and understand that Larry is a demanding coach," he added. "That being said, it's not fun playing in New York when you don't win."

The Knicks hope to change that in their Friday rematch with the Warriors. Golden State edged the Knicks last Sunday afternoon at MSG, 83-81.

Notes: Brown was unsure of changes he would make to tomorrow's inactive list... Jerome James has a strained left hamstring and is questionable for tomorrow... he was the only player with a DNP in Portland Wednesday.

JJ, Penny, and Rose should be on the inactive list

imagine...it's like he's listening to us. Rose had 5 boards last game...he may have one one more reprieve and they keep jackie on the bench.

Free jackie
