Every one keeps bringing up the picks traded to Chicago in the
Curry deal, instead of David Lee. BIG DEAL!
2 second round picks (practically worthless)
AND
(a) 2006 NY pick
OR (b) 2006 S.A. pick + option to swap picks in 2007

So either now according to my interpretation of the crap below (assuming the paraphrase they added is correct) Chicago will get option (a) because
1. NY's pick will NOT be 26-30
2. SA's pick will be 11-30

So it pretty much boils down to 1 2006 first round pick.
Likewise, all the talk about the picks vs. Lee is all pure heresay, journalist crap. Who knows if it wasn't the 2 second round picks that were thrown in instead of Lee (which seems more likely to me)? Maybe the 2006 pick would have gone anyway.
Bottom line: QUIT the damn SOUR F'IN' GRAPES!
You want to complain about picks, complain about the one that went
to Houston INEXPLICABLY in the Mo T trade. We should have RECEIVED
picks to take on that contract!

From InsideHoops.com: (http://www.insidehoops.com/curry-trade-knicks-100405.shtml)

"New York’s regular second round draft choice in 2007 and 2009.

In addition, New York conveys to Chicago, New York’s 2006 regular first round draft choice on condition that the pick does not actually go to Utah (due to not being number 26-30) and also on condition that New York receives San Antonio’s 2006 regular first round selection (due to being number 11-30). If New York’s 2006 first round does go to Utah (due to being number 26-30), and New York does receive San Antonio’s 2006 first round pick (due to being number 11-30), New York conveys to Chicago that San Antonio first round selection.

In addition, New York also conveys to Chicago the right to switch first round draft picks with New York in 2007 provided that New York’s first round selection does not go to Utah (is not number 25-30)."

They Paraphrased:

"two future Knicks second round draft picks (in general, second rounders have very limited value). And then, the Bulls get a first round draft pick: Either the Knicks or Spurs 2006 first rounder. But if it's the Spurs pick, then in 2007 the Bulls get to switch first round picks with the Knicks if they want"

If Curry reaches his potential, we'll be saying Isiah's strong suit is sign and trades! Isiah can always "buy" draft picks like last year anyway

To be fair, Briggs is 100% correct, but we'll have to see how Curry and Lee turns out. So far, they are showing signs, and I also think Curry's rebounding has been a little overlooked. But I think this is one of those things that will take a couple more years. I think Lee can be a competitor for a 6th man of the year down the road. No all star, but a great role player. Curry we'll just have to wait and see. His scoring is gonna be great, but it will be even greater if he learns to pass out of the double teams. Some guys NEVER learn this.
