Is that he doesn't have to worry about job security. He doesn't have to worry about the comments of over-reacting fans and no nothing reporters. He can just do his job and coach. It's pretty obvious that Larry is experimenting right now. He is not concerned with setting a line-up and hoping to stay afloat without learning about the rest of his team. He is experimenting and trying to find out who works well together and who he can trust. It sucks for us fans. But that's how you get better. Those he can trust will be here, those he cannot will eventually be banished or jettisoned for players he can. This is what happens when you rebuild Knick fans. You can't start winning overnight.

I've said it a milliion times. The players on the court win the games. Larry Brown is a great coach but he is not playing. There is no magic elixr for getting better. You have to pay your dues. Coach's need to be given time and support to make a team. It will take him time to mold the players he likes and replace the players he doesn't. Unfortunately our patience level never gave the Herb Williams and Lenny Wilkens the chance to do this. They had no support from anywhere and were not respected by anyone because of this. Luckily the organization has learned it's lesson, I just pray that Larry doesn't leave before the job is through.
I just hope that people will like me

LB has no real hand in putting this team together, except for maybe Curry and AD, so you have to be patient with how things are going, LB doesn't know these guys and most of them don't know each other, it does take some time.

I would be kinding myself, if I said I wasn't concerned with how things have gone so far and I get impatient myself, since I wanna see results now!. LB has alot of work to do, but I really think he needs to make this more fun for the guys, because it dosen't seem to be that at all, right now.

I agree with what you guys are saying for the most part, and I knew that the knicks would start out slow, i just didnt know they'd start off 0-4 (potentially 0-9 by the time the knicks get back to msg) slow. its an even worse start than last year, but I am not going to start motioning for LB to be fired or anything until at least 20 games into the season, becuase I beleive that the knicks will have to actually get worse before they can get better, I think that the knicks can dramatically improve later on in the season, once Larry Brown has everything figured out. our defense still isn't as good as it probably can be but I find noticably improved over last year, but our offense looks like a college team's offense but larry brown should soon change that as well. also I hope butler plays in the next game he seemed to be pretty good in the preseason.

I love larry brown- dont get me wrong but the team just looks flat out confused out there. It really is hard to watch. At least when Herb coaches us we looked like a half decent basketball team. We look like a bunch of frustrated little kids who cant beat their older brothers.

I'll give this some time, but if we go 0-9 its going to be very hard to make the playoffs.

Larrys got the cred to pull this off. Marbs was openly defient according to report regarding disrespecting Lenny and the assistants and KT's hostility derived from Marbs getting away with it.

Larrys gonna make these guys look bad until they get it right.

I agree. In many situations you get worse before you get better. There are not guarantees but I feel better about our chances of coming out of this was a decent team then I have in years.
