on SAS, magic said that pat riley asked him to come join him in ny. he said yes and was ready to go but jerry buss wouldn't let him out of his contract to do so. (he had something like a 20 year contract with l.a.)

Magic is a closet NY Knick fan. He turned down the Knicks GM job supposedly too because he had his hand full with all his businesses.

Isiah also refused us. He retired rather than give it one more try with a bad knee.

Magic was bloated and had Aid's.

Starphuching at its finest!

I remember we made a serious run at Wilt when he was 42 years old and retired about 7 years!
