He said he would be upset if the traded Spree or Houston. He said he sent a letterr to management stating that. He said Knick can improve PG and C other ways. He said that they are one of the best in the east now with him ( i totally agree). He sound really confident. I heard Knicks are going to make a move on Olowakani and Elden Campbell. I think right now Center is more important than PG, because we have a player who can create his own shot downlow. Just like Ewing, just throw the ball in around his spot and will get to the bucket.

good. well houston is never going to be traded. So this puts pressure on the management to keep spree who i think is the heart and soul of this team. With dice he wont have to heave up all those bad shots.

Exactly. Spree has been griping since he's been here that he needs a low post player to do well. Now they've got one of the better ones and they'd trade him? That would make no sense, especially when you have the $4.5 mil exception to get a guy like Keon Clark, and have an offer of Thomas/Ward for Van Exel, that improves C and PG, two things wanted by McDyess.

I liked what Dice said. Let's just hope he stays healthy.
We suck.

Interesting tidbit from one of the papers:

"Under the league's collective bargaining agreement, the Knicks can extend his pact in January."

If he plays 90% of the games up to that point and plays like we know he can, Layden should lock him in a room 'til he signs the extension.
We suck.

The exception is now 4.9mil since the average salary of a player has risen in the last year.

Olowakandi wants at least 7mil per year. Knicks are trying to work out a sign and trade that could bring him to NY, which would take at least 3 teams.

It makes perfect sense that Dice would go to bat for his fellow Bama alum. When he first came into the NBA, Spree was the one who helped him settle in. They have been close friends for over 10 years. If Scott LayDown ever plans to stand up again in the eyes of real Knicks fans, then he needs to get MORE players with the kind of Fire & talent (the Rare Combo!) that Spree and Dice have, not less.

Maybe now that Dice has gone on the record to warn those fools NOT to make the idiot mistake of trading Spree, Scott & Co. had better listen.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I'd rather have Keon if we can get him for cheap. Also, i'm glad McDyess wants the trio to stay together. I think the main reason is, him and Spree are good friends and he knows Houston will never be traded. They could be a top 2 or 3 trio in the league. If Frank Williams emerges and we can get Clark or Kandi we'll be really good.

Actually I read that McDyess and Houston are also friends from the Olympic Team...

Eisley had his start in Utah, and he knows their system. Also, with Stockton almost over, Eisley would be perfect and they can take that long bloated contract off our hands.

However, I think Ostertag is kinda soft... He has never been the same after Shaq slapped him up...
