Lamenting the Hawks' glaring lack of depth in the post could be a season long exercise if they don't get some relief anytime soon. Punishing defeats could become the norm as well, if they can't find a way to slow down the likes of Chris Wilcox. That's right, it was Wilcox that came off the bench for the Los Angeles Clippers Friday night at Staples Center to put a face on the Hawks' pain." Atlanta Journal Constitution But their depth problems inside exist regardless of who's in uniform on a given night. When backup center Jason Collier died suddenly Oct. 15 the Hawks lost not only one of their most unique personalities, they lost a 7-foot, 260-pounder who they've yet to replace on the roster.

Hawks general manager Billy Knight has been busy hunting, according to coach Mike Woodson. But there is a premium on quality big men throughout the league. And the Hawks will have to get up something of high value to get one or get lucky.

So in the meantime, the Hawks will suffer through nights like Friday, when rookie Marvin Williams and second-year forward Josh Smith had to help deal with the likes of Wilcox, a 6-10, 240-pound jumping jack, Elton Brand, James Singleton and 7-footers Chris Kaman and Zeljko Rebraca.

What makes you think they'd want James retched contract? They have no bad contracts for us to eat in return.

Successful Scenario
Due to New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

They really need to restrict who can use RealGM. Perhaps an IQ/basketball test.

Why exactly is Atlanta Al Harring on for Mo T, Jerome James and Nate Robinson?

As it was when I saw the thread topic, "We can move JJ", I thought the answer was going to be "with a forklift".

$30 MM for a ham sandwich or for JJ? Tough call. The ham sandwich probably won't foul out.

I dunno guys, I think Larry wouldn't play the ham sandwich and alot of people would be critical of him not playing the rookie ham sandwich.

Lmao.

Some of you guys don't know about something called the salary cap.

(In Chef's voice) - "See children, the Hawks are UNDER the salary cap, so they can take on much more than 125% of whatever they give out"

You could also say some of you don't get that Atlanta would never take on 5 yrs. and 30 Millin of James' contract.

Ongbok- honestly dude.....you make some of the worst trade ideas EVER.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I would rather do a trade with JJ, Taylor and Crawford for KG, and Hassell, since there is talk in the trades about KG possibly being available this season.

I am not smoking any crack, pot or even opium this is just an Idea and I thinks is better than the Hawks deal.

No.....I hate to be harsh here man....but you ARE smoking rocks.

I seriously doubt the Wolves trade him, EVEN if they miss the playoffs.

You don't sell your cash cow unless you're getting equal talent in return (which is not the case here), or massive cap space + draft picks + young talent.

the best way for us to trade JJ to Atlanta is to promise him a year's supply of free, unlimited meals in any atlanta-area mcdonalds.

He'll waive his contract and play for them for free

A year's supply of free unlimited meals? Do you realize that that would cost us more than his contract is worth!?

Unfortunately I doubt we could move him, from the way he has been playing I dont even think New Orleans would be dumb enough to accept a trade for JJ
